Geneva Family YMCA Announces 2026 Gala Honorees and “Tailgates and Touchdowns” Theme

GENEVA, NY — October 9, 2026 — The Geneva Family YMCA has announced the theme for its annual benefit gala, “Tailgates and Touchdowns,” taking place Friday, November 13, at Club 86 in Geneva. The evening will celebrate three outstanding individuals whose dedication and contributions embody the YMCA’s mission of strengthening the community.

This year’s MVP honorees are Ann Nenneau, Corporate Partner of the Year; Eileen Baker, Employee of the Year; and William Srmack, Volunteer MVP.

“After considering several candidates, our board committee selected three individuals who exemplify the Y’s commitment to social responsibility, health and wellness, and youth development,” said Board President Robert Sollenne. “Ann and CCN International have generously contributed their products and expertise throughout our capital project. Her insight and guidance have helped elevate the final result, creating a facility that will impress our members and the entire community.”

Eileen Baker’s dedication to YMCA members begins before sunrise. As Interim CEO Charlie Evangelista noted, Baker arrives at 4:30 a.m. each morning to welcome members who swim and exercise before heading to work.

“Eileen exemplifies our values through her dedication, reliability and genuine care for our members,” Evangelista said. “She greets members by name and with a smile, and we regularly hear how much her positive attitude means to them. We are fortunate to have her on our team.”

Volunteer MVP William Srmack is known throughout the community for his willingness to lend a hand wherever needed. At the YMCA, he cooks, cleans and assists with landscaping and other projects.

“Bill is a true renaissance man who never hesitates to help,” the YMCA noted. “His response to a request is often simply, ‘Whatever you need.’ His generosity and willingness to serve make him an invaluable part of our YMCA family.”

The annual gala brings together friends, families, businesses and community supporters for an evening of food, music, dancing and fellowship, highlighted by the event’s popular live and silent auctions.

Corporate sponsorship opportunities are available at four levels, and individual tickets are on sale. The YMCA also welcomes donations of items for its live and silent auctions.

The City of Geneva has informed us they will be tentatively milling and paving William St. on Wednesday, October 7th and October 8th. During this time, our William St parking lot entrance will not be available to enter/exit. That following Monday, the 12th, the city will be paving William St. The entrance/exit will also not be available during that time.
To enter the YMCA, please enter the YMCA using our Norwood Avenue entrance. Massa Construction will be moving equipment to make a 2 lane entrance/exit.
Please note these dates are tentative and subject to change with the city. We will let everyone know of the changes as soon as we hear of any changes.
