"Vincentians" ) are men and women who strive to grow spiritually by offering person-to-person service to individuals in need. Our members come in every shade of skin color. Some of us are wealthy, some are financially poor, but all of us are blessed with an awareness that our blessings (time, talent or treasure) are to be shared with our brothers and sisters in need. The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers tangible assistance to those in need on a person-to-person basis. It is this personalized involvement that makes the work of the Society unique. This aid may take the form of intervention, consultation, or often through direct dollar or in-kind service. An essential precept of the Society's work is to provide help while conscientiously maintaining the confidentiality and dignity of those who are served. The Society recognizes that it must assume, also, a role of advocacy for those who are defenseless or voiceless. Some 12 million persons are helped annually by Vincentians in the United States. Finding Local Assistance and Services: To secure assistance, contact the nearest Catholic Church in your community and ask if they have a Society of St. Vincent de Paul Conference in their parish or know of one in the vicinity. Or, look for the "Society of St. Vincent de Paul" in your local White Pages.

We are continuing our $15 clothing bag sale tomorrow Sunday at the St Vincent DePaul DejaVu Geneva Thrift Shop, 630-232-6621 located at 427 S 4th street. We are right across the street from the Geneva French Market. The sale includes all clothing, belts, hats, scarves, shoes, and purses. If an item happens to be specialty marked you can have it for 50% off the original price. We are currently not accepting clothing donations. We again have many lovely new items this week for you to enjoy. Our shop opens and the trucks unload when the volunteers arrive usually by 7:30 followed by the second truck at 8. We start picking up by 1 and are closed by 2. We do not hold, pre sell or negotiate prices so first come gets to claim an item. Cash checks credit & debit cards are accepted but cash is always appreciated if possible as it saves the charity the 3% card fee. Greetings friends and neighbors please visit Geneva tomorrow and enjoy the beautiful town the Concours De Elegance car show, the French Market and of course our humble shop. Well friends and neighbors tomorrow Sunday is National, Book lovers, Hand Holding and Polka Dancing day. So grab a book,in one hand, your specials hand in the other and Polka dance across Geneva to the St Vincent DePaul DejaVu Thrift shop and parking lot sale across the street from the Geneva French Market. It will be lots of fun, Our shop and trucks full of goodies will open when the volunteers arrive usually by 7:30 and the second truck at 8. it looks like it will be a great day and rain or shine we show up.. The St Vincent DePaul Society is an International Catholic Lay charity founded in 1833 in Paris whose mission is to serve those in need in the surrounding communities. We are currently celebrating the 20 year anniversary of our Geneva shop and Aurora warehouse store. The stores and warehouse number 80 plus unpaid volunteers who monthly give their time and talent. They operate the stores the warehouse, drive the trucks do pickups ,deliveries ,re donate furniture and goods and make funds available in response to the many SVDP home visitor volunteers from surrounding parishes that go out and meet with those having challenging times. Dear friends where is the time going? Its already August and there are still so many of you we have not had a chance to visit with this season. While you’re here take some time and go across the street and enjoy the Geneva French Market and get your fresh fix of food vegetables, flowers and more. We open up and start unloading the first truck when the volunteers arrive usually by 7:30 and the second truck around 8. We start picking up by 1 and we close at 2. Greetings Friends and neighbors well folks its the Dog Days of Summer again and we would like you to take your mind off them at our humble air conditioned St Vincent De Paul DejaVu Thrift shop, 630-232-6621 located at 427 S 4th street right across from the Geneva French Market this Sunday. We are going to have a special 1/2 off all original prices on our china sets and teapots and will also have special 1 day pricing on most of our shop furniture pieces. The volunteers usually show up by 7:30 open the shop and start unloading the trucks. We start picking up by 1 and are closed by 2. We do not negotiate prices or pre sell or hold items so first come gets to claim an item. If you arrive early for a specific item let a SVDP blue shirt know what you’re looking for and be patient as we unload. We accept credit debit checks and cash but appreciate cash if possible as it saves the charity the card fee. On larger items we offer a drop off local delivery for $50, often on Sunday after your purchase. St Vincent DePaul is a lay Catholic worldwide charity dedicated to helping those in need in their local communities. Your kind donations and purchases at our Geneva and Aurora stores for 20 years have allowed our 85 unpaid volunteers to continue this effort. Greeting Friends and Neighbors all the volunteers at the St Vincent DePaul DejaVu thrift shop Geneva and Aurora warehouse want to wish you and your families a wonderful and safe Fourth of July. On July 4th Saturday we are closed at both the shop and warehouse and on July 5th Sunday the Geneva shop and parking lot sale will also be closed so the volunteers can rest and enjoy the holiday weekend with their families. It doesn’t get much better than that, but it does!
