The Athenaeum Club met at the Commerce Street House for their annual January Business meeting. Hostesses were Gayle Courtney and Melanie Garner.

After having discussion with Geneva Athenaeum Club President, Kathi Campbell, and other relevant sources, our FEBRUARY 18th meeting has been cancelled. THis is a result of damage done during the EF-2 tornado to the Commerce House. We will meet again on MARCH 18, at our regularly scheduled time.
Hostesses for the March meeting will be as outlined in the handbook for March.

This decision was not made lightly, but out of an abundance of caution due to Commerce House needing repair from the storm.

Athenaeum Club members preparing candy bags to be delivered to Assisted Living homes, Police Department and rescue Squad.

Just a couple of thoughts from today regarding Athenaeum for Dec 17th.

We will be filling candy bags for our Assisted Living Residents. Please remember to bring individually wrapped,
Soft candies, with no pecans or other nuts.

Also, Charlene Vaughn will be having a procedure done on her heart Wednesday, same day as Athenaeum. She shared that she will
Need to be in the hospital
A couple Of days after the procedure. Charlene is having someone call
Me just before the meeting to give us an update on her condition. Please begin praying for complete recovery for her.

I’m sure someone else will
Send a reminder about Athenaeum before Wednesday, but I just wanted to be sure to remind everyone about the candy we need and most importantly, to pray for Charlene.

Athenaeum Club met November 19th at the Commerce Street House with Jennifer Crowe and Emily Ammons as hostesses.
Pastor Red Coleman was the guest speaker.

The Athenaeum Club October meeting was held at City Hall with Karen Capshaw and Jennifer Adams co-hosting. The room was decorated in a patriotic theme as well as the lovely food table. Mayor David Hayes was our guest speaker and gave updates about our town . He mentioned the continued progress at the Geneva Airport as well as the Splash Pad progress.

The May Gala is a time to celebrate the year we had with our friends, and this year was one that showed us just how precious our club friends are. Ketchem’s Restaurant was the perfect setting, complete with delicious food and gorgeous flowers and decor. We celebrated the accomplishments of GHS student, Evany Castillo, and ended our fundraising raffle with a drawing for a Blackstone Griddle. We were all starstruck by the entertainment… Mr. Crews Wright. It was an intimate performance that allowed us to get to know Crews while enjoying him singing several songs. To keep up withh Crews’ career and hear his songs, follow Crews Wright Music on Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube. . We can listen to "Big Deal, That’s How” and Phone in Heaven” on Apple Music and Spotify.

Ladies, It was a joy to spend time with you all this year and last night!
