Two more weeks! Submit your proposals NOW!
Geneva Theatre Guild is now accepting 2026-2027 production proposals from Directors for its 49th Season!
The deadline for all submissions is June 8, 2026.
To submit a proposal, download and fill out the Proposal Form located on our website: https://www.genevatheatreguild.org/volunteer
Go to the “Audition/Direct” tab, and the downloadable PDF file for the form can be found under the “DIRECT” heading. Completed proposals can be sent to the contact information located on the first page of the Proposal Form.
Directors should include:
- a resume
- a one-page budget (a sample template is included in the Proposal Form - the Board of Directors reserves the right to change and finalize the budget based on affordability)
- a copy of the script, or a detailed synopsis of the show if the script is not available
- a statement describing the artistic vision for the production
- a list of staff members who already have agreed to work on the production if it is selected (the Board of Directors can assist in finding production staff, if necessary)
Proposed productions for the AUTUMN and WINTER of 2026/2027 (September to March) must meet the following criteria:
• A small play with a cast of no more than six to ten (6 to 10) actors.
• The play should be one that will appeal to both actors and audiences. The proposal should make note of how/why the show will be received by the Geneva and greater Finger Lakes communities in their vision statement.
• We will accept proposals from DIRECTORS for new original work (Geneva Theatre Guild will NOT review submitted scripts from writers without an assigned director).
• Low technical/set requirements.
Proposed productions for the SUMMER of 2027 (July-August) must meet the following criteria:
• Must be a popular musical that will appeal to a variety of actors and audiences. The proposal should make note of how/why the show will be received by the Geneva and greater Finger Lakes communities in their vision statement.
• The total cast should be around twenty (20) actors and should not require a large stage crew or pit band (i.e. 10 or fewer musicians would be ideal)
