Kane County Safety Coalition Our purposes is to provide a collaborative network of injury prevention activities throughout the Kane County area to reduce the risk of injury and death.

We will:
Raise awareness among adults, including parents and caregivers that injuries are the leading health threat facing children today and that they are not random, but are preventable. Implement childhood injury prevention strategies in Kane County and surrounding communities. Stimulate changes in adult and child behavior, products and the environment to reduce the incidence of injury at any a

ge. Make childhood injury a public policy priority for federal, state and local policy makers, thereby increasing monetary and other resources allocated to injury prevention programs and activities. Support and expand on national health promotion and disease prevention objectives regarding injury throughout an individual's lifespan. Focus attention on and design injury prevention strategies for members of low-income families, who, statistics show, are at high risk for injury.
