HOBY NY Central

10/12/2026

This year’s Volunteer Development Retreat was attended by three very important members of our NYC HOBY team! They spent the weekend in Dallas, Texas, learning from HQ Staff, Keynote Speakers and other volunteers from around the country. They learned more about themselves as leaders, had important conversations, and made connections with our greater HOBY community. We cannot wait to hear all about what they learned when they return to NY!

HOBY NYC Day 2 is over! We learned about inclusion in all spaces, made lasagnas for the Geneva community for our service project, made great progress in our student lead projects, and are starting to feel like a family!

Oh jstaff!

We are so grateful to be able to once again support the greater Geneva community by making lasagnas to support local families and organizations facing hunger struggles. A huge thank you to 🌱 Lasagna Love HWS serves (CCESL) Hobart and William Smith Colleges Wegmans Food Markets and the hundreds of dollars spent by volunteers to support this amazing service project. A HUGE shout out to our very best friends, the Mattesquad and service project coordinators for making this project a success, we couldn’t do it without you. Let’s go lasagna! 🍝

We have had a fantastic day together! We listened to a fantastic speaker and HOBY alum, had a blast (a little warm!) competing in our annual HOBY Olympics, and began our student lead project brainstorm!
