Geneva Little League will be selling tickets this year at the 61st annual Grape Jamboree. We will be just outside the Eagles club! Hope to see you there!! 🍇🍇

Up next let’s talk finances better known as the League Treasurer.

This persons is responsible for keeping an up to date record of all the incoming and outgoing expenses of the league.

Paying all the leagues utilities in a timely manner.

Purchasing all supplies that are needed to run the concession stand. We strive to keep this up and running during the season as much as possible.

Paying out all umpires after games.

Paying any fees associated with the league in order to keep us running.

Be at all registrations to handle all monetary transactions.

Handle all transactions with the bank accounts.

File yearly taxes for the league to maintain the 501c3 non-profit status. This has to be done with the IRS and the State of Ohio.

Helping secure any grants for the season if we are in need of any and meet the qualifications of that particular grant. We can apply for grants through the National level and the State level and most can be found through Little League National.

Help with the seasons fundraising needs and understand the Little League National fundraising guidelines.

Next up let’s discuss our Secretary role.

The League Secretary is responsible for managing the attendance at every meeting. This is a crucial step when it comes time for members who awaiting to move from members to voting members.

During Board meeting the Secretary takes notes during the entire meeting. These notes can be typed during the meeting or written at the time of meeting then typed right after.

A binder of meeting minutes should be kept, brought to all meetings, and available to the public at all times during meetings.

It is the Secretary’s responsibility to inform the public 7 days in advance of all upcoming meetings.

During the registration process, any volunteer who would to help during the upcoming season would need to come see secretary to go over all things for the season with upcoming dates of importance.

Let’s work our way down the list of Board Officers! Next up let me tell you about the role and responsibilities of the league Vice President.

This position is the right hand to the President, the peanut butter to our jelly, the ying to the yang, you get my jist 😂!

They fill in when the President is unable to be available.

They should be knowledgeable in all things Little League related.

We like for our Vice President to attend the District President meeting along side our President if possible.

They are the the first line of communication for any issues and then route them up the chain of command to the president or wherever they may need to go.

The Vice President DOES get the right to vote during meetings.

Let’s discuss our First Board Officer and it’s Role! I’m sure you guessed right with which one we are going to start off with The League President!

This person is the most vital role to the league! There is a lot that goes into being the league which most of us could imagine! The President is the face of the league.

Little League Presidents are required to attend the district meetings. During these meetings they meet with the other presidents within our district, our own district President, our district umpires, and our district chief of umpires. These meetings consist of various topics such as new rules and regulations, creating games schedules, tournament play, and so much more.

Our president is responsible for making sure each of our other officers are upholding their responsibilities and duties and taking corrective action if not.

The president should be knowledgeable of Little League rules and regulations and make sure they keep their contact information updated with Little League National.

The President is responsible for running Board Meetings.

The President and Treasurer cannot
live within the same household due to both positions needing to be on the league monetary accounts.

A President should be a person that is always looking to build the league on and off the fields within the community. Without the community support our league will not thrive.

Many people do not know this but the President does NOT have voting rights within board meetings unless there is a tie. In the event of a tie, the president may vote to break the tie.
