The program, based on a 12-step format, is established in churches, treatment programs and prisons. We welcome ex-prisoners who must meet the 12-step requirements of probation and parole departments. Overcomers is a Christ-centered recovery program that offers a safe place to deal with our hurts, habits, and hang-ups through the 12 Steps recovery principles. Overcomers isn’t just a place for “Those People”; whether you are dealing with addiction, codependency, dysfunctional family situations, compulsive behaviors, grief, or just plain sin, Overcomers is the place for you! We are teaching that anyone can become winners, set free with a brand new lifestyle! Meetings are open to adults who desire spiritual and emotional support while overcoming problems such as alcoholism, drug addiction, gambling, po*******hy and codependency issues. Our commitment is to provide you with friendship, prayer and acceptance, along with the educational and spiritual tools to help you overcome your life-controlling problems. You are asked to faithfully attend a minimum of 12 weekly meetings and complete one easy-to-understand daily lesson in your workbook for 90 days, after which you will receive a graduation certificate. The meetings combine the dynamics groups, powerful teaching, and testimonies of victory, biblical fellowship, mentoring, and personal discipleship to build a solid foundation for a victorious life in Christ! The Overcomers group walks each participant through the 12-Steps by utilizing an interactive bible study text book and personal teaching. By working and applying these Steps to our life, we begin to grow spiritually and experience freedom from addictive, compulsive, and dysfunctional behaviors. God tells us to “work out our salvation” (Philippians 2:12) and the 12 steps are the path we use.
1. We admitted we were powerless over our problems—that our lives had become unmanageable.
2. We came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity's
3. We made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God.
4. We made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.
5. We admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs.
6. 1.We were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character.
7. We humbly asked Him to remove our shortcomings.
8. We made a list of all persons we had harmed, and became willing to make amends to them all.
9. We made direct amends to such people wherever possible, except when to do so would injure them or others.
10. We continued to take personal inventory and when we were wrong promptly admitted it.
11. We sought through prayer and meditation to improve our conscious contact with God, praying only for knowledge of His Will for us and the power to carry that out.
12. Having had a spiritual awakening as the result of these steps, we tried to carry this message to alcoholics, and to practice these principles in all our affairs. Our support groups maintain a positive atmosphere of acceptance, practicality and encouragement. Observing the principle of confidentiality creates a safe environment for discussing difficult problems or disclosing painful emotional wounds. Your participation in weekly meetings and completion of the daily lessons will provide direction for your successful future. There is no fee for meetings. The only cost to you is $20.00 for your workbook, plus your total commitment to your own recovery. We welcome you to attend weekly meetings for as long as you find them beneficial. The Overcomers Recovery Support Program is not a medical service, detoxification facility or professional counseling service. It is a support system of education, behavior modification and friendship. We do not guarantee that people attending weekly meetings or completing the workbook A Daily Choice will recover in whole or in part from addictions or other life-controlling problems. It is understood that recovery from any addiction or life-controlling problem requires unyielding commitment and determination to reclaim your own sobriety and emotional stability. 6:00pm - We start at 6 sharp no waiting for those not here it is a vital part of OC to be sharp on time and following scheduling .
7:00pm - You break into groups and allow 5 minutes for bathroom etc but encourage to go right to group.
7:05pm -Group starts:
1. All people are to Sign in on required sheet
2. Start with prayer
3. Open group with weekly discussion
8:00pm -Dismiss Group
