We had the honor of hosting pastors from Central Church in Green Bay -- a place that holds such a special place in our hearts, it was where Josh & I were married, our faith was deepened and where our family began!

It was such a joy to share our space with James & Libby as they received rest & refreshment. It was beautiful to reconnect & we are incredibly grateful for their friendship! We pray blessings over their marriage, beautiful family, business & ministry!!

Undone after witnessing the power of forgiveness & unwavering faith yesterday. Erika’s strength is clearly rooted in Christ alone, and what a beautiful example not only for our families, but for our country. We believe this is only the beginning, the turning point for our nation. Forgiveness doesn't have to wait for an apology, forgiveness is given so that you can experience the healing & freedom that Christ paid for.

Ephesians 4:32-- Be kind & compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as Christ God forgave you.

The seeds that have been planted will grow, and we believe the fruit will impact generations to come. 🙌🤍

🌿 Resting Seasons 🌿

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.” – Ecclesiastes 3:1

We often celebrate seasons of building and moving forward, rightly so, as it is exciting! But seasons of rest are often overlooked, even undervalued, in a world that measures worth by productivity and influence by the number of attendees to events, followers & likes on social media platforms. Yet these times of rest & pause are vital for our marriages, families and overall lives.

Rest is not optional, it’s essential, especially for those shepherding others. Without it, we risk leading from burnout & emptiness instead of overflow.

And while there is a physical rest our bodies need, the more we host pastors, the more we realize the deeper need for soul rest. Rest that is intentional, designed to take inventory of our hearts in stillness. Asking ourselves intentional questions: What heaviness have I been carrying? Am I sad, anxious or disappointed? What am I happy about? We are in process of creating intentional ways to help pastors & their spouses go even deeper in their marriage & individual hearts as they come and rest here.

We believe Jesus is knocking on the door of many hearts in this hour. (Revelation 3:20) Sometimes we can resist—building walls to protect ourselves and keeping Him at a distance. We may even hear the knock on our heart but hesitate, afraid of the vulnerability it requires. Yet when we trust Him and let Him into those vulnerable spaces- healing, freedom, and soul rest are found.

This season, let’s step into stillness and open the door to the One who is gently knocking. It’s in these quiet spaces that some of the deepest work is done- work that creates healthy marriages, families, churches, ministries and even generations ✨

Busyness can be just as dangerous as sin. It may look productive, even spiritual, but it can quietly choke out intimacy with God. As leaders and pastors, we must be intentional to slow down and take honest inventory of our hearts. If we’re not careful, hurry blinds us to God’s presence, dulls our ears to His voice, and leaves us leading on empty.

Often, busyness becomes a mask we use to cover the burdens, pain and disappointments we carry. When we lead from exhaustion & hurt rather than overflow, the flock entrusted to us suffers too.

What the people of God need in this hour is not pastors who do everything, but shepherds who are rooted in Christ- healthy, refreshed, and filled with the Spirit. When we minister from that place of health & overflow, our leadership points people to Jesus rather than to our own striving.

This is why we’ve made it a priority to host pastors in our cabins. It’s not just about offering a place to stay- it’s about creating space for rest, reflection, and renewal. We long to see pastors return to their churches and families filled again with the Spirit, leading not from weariness but from overflow.

The Gift of Hospitality ✨☕🎁💌

As many of you know, part of the ministry includes hosting pastors and their spouses - creating space for rest, reconnection, and renewal. But through our business, The Dwelling Place Retreat, we also host through Airbnb and Vrbo. Time after time, we’ve seen how God uses even those bookings in ways we couldn’t plan on our own.

Recently, we hosted a couple through VRBO celebrating their anniversary. After settling in, they told us, “There’s just something different about this place, when I saw the listing it looked so peaceful.” When they later found out the cabins are also used for sabbath rest and ministry retreats, they said it meant even more - they loved that their stay had a greater purpose than just a getaway. It was amazing to meet with them and hear their incredible journey of faith & pray together. It was a beautiful moment. We love when a simple booking turns into a divine connection. A meeting place for Him to minister to His people.

That moment reminded us: ministry doesn’t have to look a certain way. Whether it's "ministry" or "business", the heart behind it should be the same: to love people, serve them well & create a space where they can encounter Him- even if they aren't even aware. Every interaction matters. Every detail matters.

It can be easy to separate “ministry” from “business,” but why? In this season for us, we’ve seen how the two can come together so beautifully. Whether someone arrives needing soul-level rest or just a place to celebrate, we want them to feel welcomed, seen, and refreshed.

In Scripture, hospitality was simple: making room, opening your home, offering kindness. That’s still what it is today. And when people come onto this land and say they feel peace, love, and excellent hospitality - there is such joy in our hearts.

This is holy ground not because of anything flashy - but because His presence meets people no matter how they get here!

Still such a meaningful & powerful tool to hearing the voice of the Lord!! 🤍

Journaling the voice of the Lord through vulnerability✏️🗒

Psalms 139:17-18 TPT "Every single moment you are thinking of me! How precious and wonderful to consider that you cherish me constantly in your every thought! O God, your desires toward me are more than the grains of sand on every shore! When I awake each morning, you're still with me."

Our Father loves His children and He longs to speak to us! He is calling our names to come and be with Him. By journaling His thoughts, we remember how much He loves us and who we truly are. It is in this process that our hearts and minds are transformed and we experience our inheritance as children of God.

I (Jess) had the incredible privilege to be a part of a women's retreat at a beautiful ministry called Cageless Birds in Sofia, North Carolina earlier this year. It was there where I learned how to hear His voice through vulnerability and honesty. Making intentional space for Jesus to hear our honest thoughts and emotions as we journey through life and than giving Him space to speak to those places. The Holy Spirit meets us so beautifully there, in those moments of weakness and neediness as we depend on Him, the helper.

✏️🗒PROMPT: Be still before the Lord with a pen and paper for however long you can.

1. Ask yourself one or a few of these questions and journal what your heart is saying... What am I fearful about? What am I angry about? What am I sad about? What am I glad about?

2. After you have journaled your responses, allow space and time as He speaks to your heart. Start writing what you hear Him speaking. Remember, His words will never be condemning or cause guilt and shame. His words WILL be wrapped with love & compassion drawing you closer to Himself. This is not about getting all the answers, but about experiencing connection with God in your vulnerability! You are practicing hearing His voice and allowing him to do what only He can do ❤ It's a beautiful process that takes time but it's so worth it.
