Wetlands do a lot of work. They hold water, help filter runoff, provide habitat and support an incredible variety of plants and wildlife. The Ogemaw Parcel is a great example, with 30 acres of wetland and tamarack bog that we’re working to protect permanently.

This property is part of an important wildlife corridor and protects headwaters in Ogemaw County. We’re working to raise the remaining funds needed to bring this property into permanent conservation. Luneack Nature Preserve is closed to hikers during hunting season. As deer and other hunting seasons get underway, we are closing Luneack to hiking to help keep visitors, hunters and wildlife safe. We’ll reopen the preserve when hunting activity has ended. Thank you for respecting the closure and helping us care for this special place.
