Hey folks,
We'd like to introduce ourselves and tell you what we're about and what we're attempting to do:
We're a non-profit organization started by a Marine Corps Veteran that wants to help other Vets from all branches.
Our main objective is to bring individuals to us to learn how to forge and give them a new direction or constructive hobby/outlet. (Essentially to help ease into "civilian assimilation.")
It's a use of forging for therapy.
We intend for this to not be a one time experience, but a lifetime adventure. After class with us, if the Vet chooses, we will also be helping them to obtain the correct equipment and tools to continue on at home.
We're going to raffle hand-forged pieces from other blacksmiths/knifesmiths to fund the trip and learning experience.
By accident, Mike found that forging gave him a way to redirect his mind and body, and has in turn eased some of the troubles of life after service. It is our hope and goal to bring this to others so they can experience that same positive impact.
