Not only is a rabies vaccine required by state law it’s good practice!

𝗥𝗔𝗕𝗜𝗘𝗦 𝗜𝗦 𝗦𝗧𝗜𝗟𝗟 𝗢𝗨𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗘𝗥𝗘 - This year alone, we’ve heard reports of rabies in 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝘀, including in neighboring state, as well as cases involving 𝗿𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝗼𝗻𝘀, 𝗴𝗼𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗮𝘁 𝗮 𝗽𝗲𝘁𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘇𝗼𝗼, 𝗮 𝗵𝗼𝗿𝘀𝗲, and even 𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀.

Please make sure your animals are 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗶𝗿 𝗿𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝘃𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀. Dogs and cats aren’t the only animals that can be exposed. Horses and other livestock can be at risk, too.

Rabies is nearly always fatal once symptoms appear, but vaccination is one of the best ways to protect both animals and the people who care for them.

We don’t normally house cats as many know Uptown Catz takes on Lauderdale Cats. But it is a hard season for all in animal welfare and sheltering so we’re looking to add cat rescue partners!

If you know of a reputable cat rescue that can help we currently have three kittens in need.

Immediate need: We’re trying to help get food to a lady that had a stray show up and deliver puppies! She’s out of puppy food. If you can help with cost I’ll have some delivered to her. (Venmo or cashapp)

Next thing is we need a rescue group that can take these babies! They’re located in Lauderdale County. Believe they have first vaccine. Will verify if needed.

🖤🐾 Meet Rose — small girl, BIG personality! 🐾🖤

Rose is a one-year-old 11lbs , black wire-haired Jack Russell mix. We think she may be full-blooded, but we cannot say with 100% certainty. She is fully grown and won’t get any bigger, although she may fill out a little more.

Rose is a spunky little girl who loves being played with and loved on! She can run with the big dogs for sure—she may be little, but she can definitely hold her own! 🤣 She is currently working on her leash etiquette and is doing very well because she is one smart little girl!

Rose is:

🐾 Spayed
🐾 Heartworm negative
🐾 Up to date on all vaccinations, including rabies
🐾 Completed five consecutive days of dewormer
🐾 Received 30 days of flea and tick prevention
🐾 Ready for her forever home today!

Her adoption fee is $125, payable by cash or check. We do not currently have a card reader and cannot provide change.

As with all our adopted dogs, Rose will go home with a collar, leash and a goodie bag filled with some of her favorite things! 🖤
