We are a 501c3 non profit animal rescue located in Gates Mills, Ohio. We are dedicated to rescuing abandoned, abused and neglected cats and dogs.

Nine years ago we started Second Chance Animal Rescue. Over the years we have helped cats, dogs, rabbits and even a turtle find their forever homes! Happy National Hot Dog Day! 🌭 Izzy spent most of this humid afternoon napping and dreaming about one of her favorite foods! Izzy is still looking for her forever home, but tonight she will celebrate this day with a hot dog of course! If you are interested in meeting Izzy, please DM for more details.

Izzy was returned to us TWO years ago today. We had only a few inquiries regarding her. Izzy would love to have a home of her own. She’s the dream dog. She’s trained and does well in her crate. She loves being outside. Belly rubs and car rides are her favorite. She’s very low maintenance. However, she does need to be the only pet in the household. Please share so that Izzy can find her forever home. ❤️

☘️ Clover Update ☘️

Clover was discharged from the ICU yesterday and is doing great! Unexpected hospital visits like this take a huge hit on small rescues. Her total hospitalization cost was just over $4000. We will be on an intake hold until we raise funds and are more financially stable. If you are able to donate, every little bit helps.

Happy St Patrick’s Day! ☘️

We wish it was more happy for Clover. Clover came to us last week and went to a foster to adopt home this weekend. Today she started not feeling like herself and off to the vet she went. Unfortunately she tested positive for parvo, despite having her initial vaccines. She’s currently being cared for at the ER. Please keep this little sweetie pie in your thoughts.
Parvo is scary and is expensive to treat. We will do everything to make sure she’s okay and comfortable. If you want to donate to Clover’s care, you can Venmo us or donate on the link below.

Meet Chester!

Chester is a Schnauzer mix that is around 8-10 years old. He is neutered, will be microchipped, up to date on age appropriate vaccines, heartworm tested and started on flea/heartworm prevention. Chester hasn’t had the best life. He was dropped off and abandoned at our vets office lobby. He was dirty, covered in fleas and had matted fur. Since then he has been groomed, bathed and given much needed tlc. He is a sweet boy that is crate and house trained. He gets along with dogs and cats. He knows sit and lay down. He is 28 lbs.
