Need transportation to Kingsport?

Mountain Empire Transit has a new free route that can help residents access medical care and other essential services in Kingsport, Tennessee.

The new route includes designated stops along the way, with connections available for residents of Lee, Scott and Wise counties and the City of Norton.

Ready to launch a career in the skilled trades? MECC is now accepting applications for Plumbing Level 1, offered this Fall at the Scott County Career & Technical Center!

📅 Class Dates: October 5, 2026 – January 28, 2027
🕔 Schedule: Monday–Thursday | 5:00 PM – 9:00 PM
📍 Location: Scott County Career & Technical Center

During this 15-week course, students will receive:

✅ Weekly fuel cards
✅ Weekly food cards
✅ Classroom instruction & hands-on training
✅ CPR/First Aid Certification
✅ OSHA-10 Certification
✅ NCCER CORE Certification
✅ NCCER Plumbing Level 1 Certification

The May 26th meeting of the Scott Co. EDA meeting time has changed to 5:00pm. Meetings are held in the county administrative offices at 190 Beech St Suite 201 in Gate City. All meetings are open to the public.
