Yesterday, Sat Aug 29, the Forestview Cross Country Team participated in the Western NC Cross Country Carnival in Hendersonville NC.  Our Ladies team won their division by beating 12 teams from NC &SC, medaling for Forestview: Sophia Townsend 3rd place, Faith Jacobs 4th place, Kalli Stuart 6th place, and Katalina Carter 8th place.

Last year, East Gaston experienced the devastating loss of one of their students, Keagan Lucas. His family has continued to honor his memory by collecting stuffed animals to donate to Levine Children’s Hospital. They did their first collection and drop-off on his birthday, and really enjoyed getting the opportunity to give back to the hospital in his honor.

The stuffed animals are donated through Levine’s Child Life Teddy Bear Program. Please remember that the stuffed animals must be brand new and have the tags attached in order for Levine Children’s Hospital to accept them.

I truly believe that when tragedy hits a community, the support we show each other can go a long way. This is a simple way for Forestview to come together, support another school community, and help bring some comfort to children at Levine.

Please pass the word along to your friends, classmates, teams, and anyone else who may be willing to participate.
