Join local faith leaders for a special conversation during HealthNet Gaston’s Hope Fest 2026!

Greater Gaston Baptist Association, in partnership with Blue Cross and Blue Shield of North Carolina Faith-Based Initiatives, invites faith leaders and faith-based organizations to learn about opportunities to strengthen families and communities across Gaston County.

The discussion will feature Rev. Dr. Tiffany Bennett-Cornelous, Ph.D., M.Div., Principal Project/Program Manager for Faith-Based Initiatives and County Engagement.

We are just a little over three weeks away from the BackPack Weekend Food Program’s annual fundraiser, Dining at the Chef’s Table. We are getting so excited for this special night! 🔥 Protect Your Home with a Working Smoke Alarm

A working smoke alarm is one of the simplest ways to help protect your family and save lives. Homeowners who live within the Gastonia city limits and do not have a smoke alarm may be eligible for a free smoke alarm and installation through the City of Gastonia.

Submit a smoke alarm request form, and a Fire Department representative will contact you to schedule installation. There is no cost. No computer access? Call 704-866-6807 during regular business hours and provide your name, address, and phone number, or visit https://gastonianc.forms.govos.com/ng/fa/8x5wwbjlg2fd

Residents outside the Gastonia city limits may call 704-866-3350 to learn about available resources. Renters should contact their landlord, who is responsible for providing properly working smoke alarms.

Remember to test your smoke alarms regularly and replace batteries as recommended. A working smoke alarm can save lives.

Join us on **Thursday, August 6**, for a free outdoor showing of **The Wiz** at the **Erwin Library entrance parking lot**.

Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy a fun evening with family, friends, and neighbors. Free popcorn will be available while supplies last.
