Staffing Update – Special Announcement
The Piedmont Council, Scouting America, would like to thank Adam McCarrison for his eleven years of service (2015-2026) as a member of our professional team. Adam will be leaving the Piedmont Council on Tuesday, June 30th, 2026, and will continue his work in Scouting as the new Assistant Scout Executive for the Palmetto Council, Scouting America (Spartanburg, South Carolina) starting Wednesday, July 1st, 2026.
Adam’s professional experience is diverse w/the Piedmont Council. An Eagle Scout from the Greater Pittsburgh Council (now Laurel Highlands Council), Adam started his professional career w/Scouting as a District Executive for the Heartland District (Lincoln County & Northern Gaston County). In 2018, he was promoted to Senior District Executive in the Heartland District. In 2020, he was offered the opportunity to serve as part of the council’s management team as a Field Director. In this role, he served alongside w/District Executives in all our eleven counties in terms of helping grow their finance, membership, and program w/their volunteer bases. He was the primary trainer for all our new team members and was the staff advisor for several committees, fundraising events, etc.
Adam attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and graduated w/a Bachelor of Science in Education w/teaching certifications in Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and North Carolina and earned a Masters of Education in Middle and Secondary Instruction. Prior to working w/the Piedmont Council, Adam was a middle and high school educator serving youth at Hampton School District #2 (now Hampton School District), Lexington City Schools, and Cabarrus County Schools. Adam completed Woodbadge (Beaver Patrol) in 2018, is a Rotarian (now Service Choice Member) in the Rotary Club of Lincolnton and had served as their Program Director, Secretary, President-Elect, and President, and is a community member in the Lincolnton – Lincoln County Chamber of Commerce and member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church in Hickory, North Carolina.
Adam currently resides in Lincolnton, North Carolina w/his wife Nicki and dog, Sasha, and looks forward to working with the unit leaders and their families in the Palmetto Council. Please congratulate him as he looks at continuing his personal service to Scouting!
