Happy Birthday, Mrs, P 🥳

🎉 Happy Birthday, Training Officer Marilynn Porter! 🎉

Join us in wishing a very happy birthday to our very own Marilynn Porter, better known around the 12 House as “Red” or “Mrs. P.”

Red brings 19 years of dedicated service to our department and wears many hats. She is a credentialed North Carolina EMT and a North Carolina certified Firefighter, Technical Rescuer, Swiftwater Rescuer, and PADI Surface Support Specialist, making her a key asset across fire, rescue, and water operations. As our Training Officer, she keeps everyone in line, ensures standards are met, and makes sure our members are always prepared to answer the call.

She’s also known for keeping the Chief in line, both at the firehouse and at home, proudly serving as the Chief’s better half and one of the strongest backbones of this department.

Beyond training and emergency response, Mrs. P is always stepping up to help at department events, working behind the scenes and on the ground to support our mission and our community. Her dedication, leadership, and no-nonsense approach keep this place running smoothly and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Thank you, Marilynn, for your years of service, commitment to excellence, and everything you do for the department and the community. We hope you have a fantastic birthday! 🎂🚒

Today we’re thankful for family, friends, good food… and for the hope that none of those deep-fried turkeys turn into a fully involved fire.
