Gaston Police Reserve Association holiday fundraiser events.
Gaston Police Reserve Association, a 501 (c)(3) organization is raising money for “Day with Santa” and “Shop with a GPD Cop” (not necessarily in this order).
The purpose of these two events is to foster positive relationships between youth and the Police.
During ”the Day with Santa” event, Gaston Community Children will have the opportunity to visit Santa at Gaston Community Church where they meet and take their picture with Santa, and Police Officers.
For the “Shop with a GPD Cop” event, kids in our community will get the opportunity to shop at one of the local area stores to purchase a gift(s) for themselves and/or members of their immediate family. A Gaston police officer will es**rt each child around the store and assist in selecting appropriate gift(s). While shopping, the children have the opportunity to get to know the officer. After shopping, some gift(s) are wrapped by volunteers and given to the parents.
The number of kids participating depends on the amount of money donated by our supporters and our Police officers working at Gaston Police Department. If interested in donating for these community events, please contact any of Gaston Police Officers. Donation boxes will be located at the Gaston Townhall and the Gaston Police Department. We’ll also have a department boot/helmet drive on November 23rd, at the corner of Nebo and Bethel from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
We would like to count on you to help us create a stronger community. Donate today.

Take action now! Contact the Capitol Switchboard at 202-224-3121 to advocate for the passage of the “Protect and Serve Act” (HR 743). This proposed legislation aims to make it a federal offense to knowingly assault a police officer, addressing the increasing violence against law enforcement. With a significant rise in officer shootings—15 in the last three days and a 60% increase last year—this bill seeks to counteract the escalating violence. If your representative is on the Judiciary Committee, it's particularly crucial to reach out, they have an important vote today!
