Drift Sisters meet up in May was magical ✨✨✨

This time we explored getting a fishing license online at or locally from Debbie at Cotter Trout Dock. We ventured out to a few public access points and discussed safety and reading the waters along with water generations from the Dam.

So grateful for high class casting lessons from TU volunteer Drift Sister Jenn Woodruff
And getting our wading boots wet with TU women’s director Courtney Blank .

And as always thanks for the espresso coffee and chai tea, Nichole 🫶🏼

Watch for July events following the June 3rd TU698 monthly meeting. We are super excited to learn together 🤟

🌸 Drift Sisters Beginner Gear List – White River Ready! 🎣

Ladies, if you’re gearing up to fish the White River with us, here’s a simple checklist to get you river-ready and confident on the water:

• Polarized sunglasses 👓 (a must for spotting trout in our clear Ozark water + eye protection)
• Hat or cap 🧢 (sun protection + cuts glare)
• Waders & wading boots 🥾 (felt or rubber soles with good grip for rocky river bottoms)
• Wading staff (optional but helpful for stability, especially with changing flows)
• Net 🐟 (rubber nets are best for safe catch & release)
• Nippers & lanyard ✂️ (keep your tools handy and accessible)
• Sling pack, wading bag, or vest 🎒 (carry everything comfortably)
• Fly box with flies 🪰 (think midges, sowbugs, scuds, and nymphs for the White River)
• Leader & tippet 🧵 (9 ft leaders, 4x–5x tippet is a great starting point)
• Rod & reel outfit 🎣 (9’ 5 wt or 9’ 6 wt rod is perfect for White River trout)

✨ Pro Tips for the White River:
• Water levels can change quickly—always check generation schedules before wading
• Dress in layers—mornings can be chilly, even in spring
• Don’t be afraid to ask questions—we’re all learning together!

This is your sign to get your gear together and come fish with your Drift Sisters 💕

Drop a 🎣 in the comments if you’re planning to join us on the river!
