We will be serving bagged lunches tomorrow, 8/20, from 11:30AM to 2PM. Lunches are first come, first served. Our address is as follows:

The Salvation Army of Gary-Merrillville set up at NIPSCO’s community support event at the Gary YWCA today (8/17). We gave out $5,000 worth of Strack & Van Til gift cards - fifty $50 cards at lunch and another fifty at dinner. ReMix Catering & Events and Eight Days of Hope both provided hot, delicious meals in the thousands to people in need.

Many in Gary and the surrounding areas still do not have power, so it is amazing to watch the community come together to provide aid to their neighbors.

The Salvation Army Corps Community Center on 4800 Harrison Street in Gary is hosting two feeding events this week. The first is to provide food boxes on Wednesday 8/19 from 12PM to 2PM, and the second is to provide sack lunches on Thursday 8/20 from 11:30AM to 2PM.

NIPSCO’s next community events are tomorrow, 8/18, at the Lincoln Center in Highland and the Dean and Barbara White Community Center in Merrillville. Lunch is at noon and dinner is at 4:30. All meals are free while supplies last!

Thanks to all of the volunteers, organizations, and community organizers for providing help during this difficult time!
