While I am deeply appreciative of the exposure the 100 Club of Lake and Porter Counties, Inc. received as a result of this article in The Times today I am disappointed Maya Liquigan erroneously reported the circumstances of an event I was involved with while in the Patrol Division, specifically paragraphs 3 and 4 of the article. I did not jump out of bed to respond to a robbery and was shot by the suspect during an exchange of gun fire. I've asked for a retraction from her, Marc Chase, and Andrew Steele at The Times. I'm embarrassed by the misrepresentation.

Behind the badge is a person — and a family waiting at home. Northwest Indiana officers and their loved ones live with that uncertainty every shift.
