The Gate Theater Group Of Gary Indiana USA

The Gate Theater Group Of Gary Indiana USA The Gate Theater Group is an international nonprofit theater with a branch operating in Chiang Mai, Thailand for 18 years.

This “grass-roots” organization has been formed as charitable means for connecting theaters groups in the United States with similar groups throughout the world. The creative founder, Stephan Turner birthed the concept back in the early 1980’s in Gary,
Indiana and Chicago, Illinois. The mission and vision of The Gate Theater Group, LTD is “To strive to entertain, inform and educate the residents

of both domestic and international under-served communities with professional quality English language Community Theater”. This will be accomplished through the production and performance of plays and workshops which are relevant to diverse members of the local community”. The recent plans to extend the enrichment of the Arts and cultural life through the English language community theater is greatly sought after, during a time of the current global expansion and connections with the USA. It is our aim to enhance and develop youth in the theater arts through cooperative ventures with local schools via virtual workshops and sharing of information. Ultimately, presenting quality family entertainment, while creating opportunities for young people and adults to develop talents
in all aspects of theater production and performance. We have been operating in Chiang Mai, Thailand for 8 years. This is a region in SEA that is is ranked very low in English proficiency compared to other Asian Countries. In 2012 over 60 % of English teachers had insufficient knowledge of English and teaching methodology for example. The Gate Theater Group is the only English language theater in Northern Thailand. We know this will have a large impact on encouraging and furthering the English language in Thailand.

THE STAGE IS SET!!

"Overture, curtain, lights! This is it, the night of nights! No more rehearsing and nursing a part, we know every part by heart! Overture, curtain, lights! This is it, you'll hit the heights! And oh what heights we'll hit! On with the show, this is it!"

People who have known me the longest will recognize those lyrics. We heard them every Saturday morning when we were kids. That jingle meant we were about to be thoroughly entertained. Now, I'm happy to announce that The Gin Game opens tonight, and it's our turn to entertain you!
It's been such a rewarding experience to work on this production right here in my hometown. I'm so proud of the work Jan, I, and the rest of the team have done to bring this story to life.
This weekend is your one and only chance to see the play. We'll have performances this evening and Saturday at 6 p.m., with our final show on Sunday at 4 p.m. We've poured our hearts into this show and can't wait to share it with you. Your support means the world to us, and we hope to see you in the audience!
Even more importantly, all proceeds from this production will serve as a fundraiser for the Gate Theater Chiang Mai, our non-profit organization dedicated to bringing English-language theatre to Northern Thailand. Your ticket purchase will directly support our mission and help us continue our amazing work in the arts community both here and there..
Don’t wait! Get your tickets in advance. You don’t want to be left at the door if seats run out. Purchase online here: https://buytickets.at/thegatetheatergroup/1806294/share/5274869748143f47117739c9fef197e5

I'm back in town! After a rough start with the flu, I'm finally on the mend and ready to get to work. I'm here to drum up support for The Gate Theater of Chiang Mai, Indiana's first and only international theater company, and I've got some exciting news to share about our upcoming season.

"The Gin Game"
Our first production, The Gin Game, opens for three performances from September 4-7. My longtime friend and talented theater artist, Janice Culver, and I will be taking the stage as two lonely hearts turned bitter adversaries in a rundown old folks' home. This is a powerful and heart-wrenching experience where every game reveals the raw, unfiltered essence of two lives looking back with nothing left to lose.

Tickets are available now online and at the door while they last! Get yours here: https://www.tickettailor.com/events/thegatetheatergroup/1806294

"The Exonerated"
Our second production this season is The Exonerated, scheduled for October 3-5. This is a powerful play based on the true stories of six individuals who were wrongfully convicted of crimes and sentenced to death, only to be exonerated and freed years later. It's a moving and important look at the American justice system.

I hope you'll join us for both of these unforgettable performances.
