Skyfest kicks off the kite flying & camping season at Ft. Stevenson State Park, 3 miles south of Garrison, ND. We fly kites all three days of Memorial Day weekend, weather permitting, and sometimes even when it's not! It's a lot of fun and everyone is welcome. Bring your lawn chairs and get comfortable! There isn't a kite flyer that is too young or too old. Bring your own kites or buy them there.

You may see some of the largest kites and line laundry available today, including 50 foot alligators, 25 foot and 50 foot fish, 90 foot spin socks, and all types of trick kites from single line to quad line foils. The art kites that are hand sewn and designed by award winning textile artists will also be flown and described as they go up. Each day will have a special event too from candy drops to basket races to kite making. If you'd like to volunteer to help any day of the festival your park entrance will be waived.
