I did this show last November. I had no idea how people would react to these original, untried, unseen songs. I was frankly blown away by the response. I have a little file I call my "Atta Girl" File. It's where I keep kind words to look back on when I am feeling blue, or like I am not doing enough in this world. Here are some of the responses I saved from the show:
"Cat, your show was amazing.
Red Flags.
Green Jeep.
WHITE HOT!
The songs are so good, and your message about having an open heart is simply fantastic and amazing.
Your resilience is so inspiring.
Thank you for sharing your story so courageously and poignantly.
I literally laughed - and cried.
You are truly incredible." LE
"I must send you my heartfelt thanks for your heart-full show and performance! You are such a gift to all who know you and to the arts. It is because of your immense talent (which blows me away) but even more so because of your optimism and belief in second chances…. Or 9+ chances!" KG
"I never got an opportunity to tell you how affected I was by your performance. It has really stuck with me, and during my daily hikes I find myself thinking about some of your songs, especially the Jeep with wings song, and the one about three generations of tragedy. For me, this is the mark of great art, you created images that stayed with me. I am lucky to be able to share your talent weekly, and would love to hear those songs again someday." DC
OK, I admit it. I am proud of this show. It was a true labor of love and I am profoundly touched by how many people were affected by it. Come see it if it calls to you. It sold out quickly last time, so don't dawdle!!
