Ecological Citizen's Project

Ecological Citizen's Project We work to grow citizen-led campaigns to produce a more democratic, healthy, and sustainable way-of-life.

The primary goal of the Ecological Citizen’s Project (ECP) is to develop ecological citizens. An ecological citizen recognizes the interconnections between the problems we face and acts to address root causes collectively. Our work includes facilitating convenings for student leaders engaged in change efforts and community members who want to become more civically involved, developing transformati

ve policy proposals that promote greater sustainability at the local level and building public support for them, and telling inspiring stories of personal life change through our Next Stop Now podcast series. The Ecological Citizen's Project is based on Longhaul Farm. Longhaul Farm is a farm and think/act/learn space located in Garrison, NY in the lower Hudson Valley. We practice sustainable living and agriculture, including running a Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) program and diversified, free-range live-stock program, and making, baking, canning, pickling, cutting, cooking, growing and mending various things.
