Throwing it back to the 2024 Great Skate Giveaway and all the joy, courage, and community that rolled through that day. 🛹✨

Moments like these are exactly why we can’t wait to do it again.

In just 10 days, Keaton’s Kids and Keep It Moving Zane will be back at Newburgh Skatepark for the next Great Skate Giveaway, with the goal of giving 100 skateboards to 100 kids in loving memory of Keaton and Zane.

This is what happens when love keeps moving: kids get to try something new, feel supported, build confidence, and leave with more than a board. They leave with a reminder that their community believes in them.

A huge thank you to Connect Skateboarding for helping make this year’s giveaway possible.

The countdown is on: 10 days until the Great Skate Giveaway. 🛹

On June 20 at Newburgh Skatepark, Keaton’s Kids and Keep It Moving Zane will give away 100 skateboards to 100 kids in loving memory of Keaton and Zane.

This day is about more than skateboards. It is about turning pain into purpose, carrying love forward, and creating a place where kids can feel brave, supported, and free.

A board can be a beginning. A helmet can be protection. A community can be the reason a child keeps going.

Through the memories of Keaton and Zane, this giveaway becomes something bigger than a single day. It becomes movement. It becomes hope. It becomes love in action.

A heartfelt thank you to Connect Skateboarding for sponsoring this event and helping make this day possible for local kids. Your support helps put boards in hands, confidence in motion, and joy on wheels.

If you’ve been online lately, you’ve probably seen “looksmaxxing”—a trend, hugely popular with teens, that pushes them to obsessively “maximize” their appearance. Some of it’s harmless, but experts warn the darker corners fuel body dysmorphia, anxiety, disordered eating, and a sense that your worth is tied to a face rating. It’s a narrative a lot of kids are quietly absorbing.

So on International Children’s Day, here’s our counter-trend.

Because the research on what actually makes kids well is pretty incredible:

Time outdoors lowers stress and eases the kind of worry linked to depression. That feeling of awe a kid gets looking out over a mountain? It’s been shown to quiet rumination, reduce inflammation, and make kids kinder and more generous—partly because awe makes you feel part of something bigger than yourself.

Nature sharpens the mind. Studies link time outside to better attention, working memory, and emotional regulation in kids.

It even protects their eyesight. Bright outdoor light signals the eye to grow in the correct shape, which helps guard against nearsightedness.

No filters. No ratings. No “glow-up” required. Just a kid, a mountain, and a view that does more good than any trend ever could.

The footage above is from an unforgettable day of snowboarding at Windham Mountain Club, made possible through SHRED Foundation and their incredible program. We were proud to help facilitate the day—providing buses and so much more—so every child could take it all in.

This is the kind of “maxxing” we can get behind.

We’re so proud to continue supporting CatRock Ventures and their incredible cycling academy at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx.

Seeing the students of grow more confident on their bikes, support one another, and build real riding skills has been such a joy. Every session is a reminder that biking is more than movement. It is freedom, confidence, teamwork, and the courage to keep trying.

Thank you to for leading this beautiful work, to for helping make it possible, and to every young rider showing up with determination, curiosity, and joy.

We can’t wait for the next ride. 🚲💚

For Keaton 🤍

Mother’s Day can be beautiful, but it can also be impossibly tender. For mothers who have lost a child, this day can hold love, memory, grief, pride, and pain all at once.
Today, we want to honor Cat.

Cat is, and will always be, Keaton’s mama. That love does not end. It does not become smaller with time. It does not disappear because he is no longer here in the way every mother deserves to have her child here.

Through Keaton’s Kids, Cat has carried her love for Keaton into something that continues to care for other children. Every child encouraged, every program supported, every small moment of joy, confidence, adventure, and connection traces back to him, to her, and to a bond that loss could never undo.

Keaton’s spirit lives on through the work Cat has built in his honor. Not only as memory, but as movement. As children learning, trying, laughing, riding, playing, and feeling supported. As love that keeps finding a way to reach more kids.

To Cat, and to every mother carrying a child in their heart today, we are thinking of you with so much tenderness.

We honor the love that continues.

We honor the motherhood that remains.

We honor Keaton, always. 🤍

Teacher Appreciation Week, but make it slopeside. 🏂

First, a very important disclaimer: the text overlay is a joke and a play on the trend. Matt is a volunteer, and we are absolutely not suggesting he had any actual work responsibilities he was skipping. No workplace snow-drama here, just a funny hook for a very real appreciation post.

Featured above is the amazing Matt at Windham Mountain, guiding a student down an advanced slope as part of the SHRED Foundation’s snowboarding program.

Keaton’s Kids was honored to help facilitate this program by providing busing, logistical, and administrative support so more kids could access the experience.

During Teacher Appreciation Week, we are thinking about all of the teachers, mentors, coaches, volunteers, and program leaders who help children try new things, build confidence, and keep going even when something feels intimidating at first.

Because teaching is not always a classroom moment. Sometimes it looks like helping a child find their balance on a bike. Sometimes it looks like offering calm guidance on a mountain. Sometimes it looks like being the steady voice that says, “You’ve got this,” when gravity is being deeply dramatic.

Matt is one of the many incredible people we feel honored to work with and support through Keaton’s Kids.

Thank you to everyone who helps young people build confidence, courage, independence, and joy, one brave attempt at a time.

Happy Birthday, Cat. 💛

Captured last month at Jay Peak Resort, where Cat helped CatRock Ventures with their leadership summit, this moment feels like such a perfect reflection of who she is: full of life, heart, movement, and joy.

Cat is the kind of person whose love becomes action. Through Keaton’s Kids, she has turned unimaginable loss into something deeply beautiful: a mission rooted in joy, courage, confidence, and connection.

Her love for Keaton continues to ripple outward through every child encouraged, every bike ride celebrated, every moment of confidence built, and every community member touched by the work she has created in his honor.

Cat, you inspire more people than you probably realize, myself included. Wishing you the happiest birthday and a year filled with love, healing, adventure, and continued success for Keaton’s Kids.

Your love has created something beautiful from darkness, and that beauty keeps moving forward. 🚲✨

🚲 There’s nothing quite like the feeling of catching your balance for the very first time. Happy National Learn to Ride a Bike Day! 🎉

Consider this your permission slip to slow down. 🌿

Today is World Wish Day—a global moment honoring the power of a single dream, a quiet hope, the wishes children carry close to their hearts.

What we wish for our kids—really, deeply—isn't just success or achievement. It's peace. The kind that lives in their own breath. The kind they can come back to when the world feels loud.

So if you're a young person reading this: take a deep breath right now. In through your nose. Out slowly. That's it. That's the whole practice. You just did it. 💚

Watching our founder Cat lead a yoga class for the students at the CatRock Ventures Jay Peak Leadership Summit reminded us why this matters so much. These kids climbed mountains this week—and they also learned how to come home to themselves on a mat. Both are wins. Both are wishes coming true in real time.

To every child, every teen, every tired adult who needed to hear this today: you have permission to slow down. Your nervous system is rooting for you.

Take the breath. Make the wish. 🌬️✨

Greetings from Jay Peak! 🏔️

Wish you could see it from up here. We're tucked into the mountains of Vermont this week with our friends at CatRock Ventures for their annual Leadership Summit — and what a wonderful program it is. Our founder Cat and Kevin are on the ground helping facilitate a week of skiing, snowboarding, hiking, snowshoeing, environmental workshops, and service learning.

Highlight of the trip so far? Cat led a yoga class for the students — a little mindfulness and breath work to balance all that big mountain energy. 🧘‍♀️

Watching these incredible young leaders push past their comfort zones and find new confidence on the mountain has been the greatest gift. Growth happens when you challenge yourself, and these kids are showing up in a big way.
Sending love (and a little altitude) from Vermont. 💌
