The One On One Mentoring Program in Garner, Iowa looks to match volunteer adult mentors from the community with a student facing various adversities in the GHV school district that might benefit from an additional caring adult relationship. It only takes 1 hour a week offering a positive investment, not only for their life but yours as well.

The mentoring program will be closing at the end of June, 2026. We wanted to thank this community for making this possible for so long and for the support we've had. It's been a blessing for so many people. It's been a challenge to find new mentor volunteers, and in light of that, it was time to make the difficult decision to bring the program to and end. But again, we are so grateful for each and every supporter, mentor, mentee, and family that has participated. Thanks again!

Get Ready for the Holiday Lighted Parade!
We want YOU to be part of this magical Garner tradition on Saturday, November 22nd at 6:00 p.m.!

Light up your vehicle, float, tractor, golf cart, business truck, or anything with wheels, and join us for a festive night as we make our way from the Red Elevator down State Street to Central Park for the official lighting of the Mayor’s Tree!

🏆 Prizes Awarded For:
• Judges’ Choice
• Best Holiday Sound
• Light of the Parade

No registration needed! Just decorate, show up, and shine bright!
Winners will be announced during the tree lighting ceremony.

Tickets are $10 and available in advance in the HS office or at the door.
