UMF CEO SEARCH NOW OPEN

The United Methodist Foundation of North Carolina is pleased to announce that the search for our next Chief Executive Officer is officially underway, and applications are now being accepted.

The CEO profile was developed through a thoughtful process that incorporated feedback from UMF staff and board members, along with key partners and relationships, including North Carolina Conference leadership, peer United Methodist foundations, and UMF unit holders. Their collective insight helped identify the leadership qualities, experience, and vision important for UMF’s next chapter.

What a joy to worship with the wonderful people of Wall’s Chapel UMC on Sunday. Pastor Toney's message on Psalm 46 had us all remembering we serve “A Good God for Bad Times.” She also reminded us that Christ had more trouble quieting the disciples than he did the storm that fateful day in the boat. I was encouraged from start to finish to renew my trust in the Good God who quiets that storms inside of me as well as around me. Thank you Lucretta for your faithfulness to God’s Word and to your community.

It was also a privilege, in my role as Director of Legacy, to present Wall’s Chapel UMC with a 2026 Auman Award. The grant will help fund much needed repairs to the pastor’s parsonage. Purchasing and installing windows so that the home can be safer and more fuel efficient in the days ahead is their intention. This is just one more way that being good stewards of all that God entrusts to our care is being prioritized in Raeford, NC. We also give thanks that Rev. David Blackman, Gateway DS was able to join us for worship and the check presentation.

What a joy to worship with the wonderful people of Divine Street UMC on Sunday. Grayson's message on Jacob's struggle by the Jabbok encouraged us to "hold on for the blessing" in our struggles. Thank you for your faithfulness to God’s Word and to your community.

It was also a privilege, in my role as Director of Legacy, to present Divine Street UMC with a 2026 Kellogg Award. The grant will help fund much needed purchases to benefit the youngest that learn and play DSUMC on Sunday mornings and throughout the week during Preschool. From a crib and changing table to storage cubbies and toys, the Kellogg Grant will help ensure the outstanding care DSUMC has offered to children of Dunn, NC for decades will continue in the days ahead.

What a blessing it was to be with the good folks of El Camino on Sunday. I am so thankful for all that was done to offer a bilingual experience; I enjoyed all aspects of my worship experience. The hotdog lunch afterwards was just one more way I felt welcomed and enfolded in God’s love.

I give thanks for pastors who have gone before us, like Rev. James A. Auman, who lived out their call to ministry in the NCCUMC. No doubt Rev. Auman felt great appreciated for the Conference and also saw the ongoing needs around the Conference when establishing the Auman Endowment. Because of his generosity in death as well as in life, God’s people have been and will be blessed in perpetuity. Rev. Auman may never have visited El Camino during his years of service, but now in a small way his legacy lives on in this congregation.

We at UMF are grateful for the opportunity to manage the funds that he established for NCCUMC and to present checks like we did on Sunday to El Camino UMC. Together we are doing well by doing good. Thanks be to God and God’s servant, Rev. James A. Auman.

What a joy to worship with the wonderful people of Gibson Memorial UMC today!
Terry’s message on the soils was one of the best I’ve heard. Thank you for your faithfulness to God’s Word and to your community.
It was also a privilege, in my role as Director of Legacy, to present Gibson Memorial UMC with a 2026 Auman Award. The grant will help fund much-needed repairs to the church’s fire escape, improving safety for everyone while eliminating a potential hazard for curious little ones.
Congratulations, Gibson Memorial UMC! It’s always a blessing to see faithful ministry making a lasting difference—doing good while doing well.

On Monday, your Foundation was welcomed to visit with University UMC in Chapel Hill to continue our conversation about a loan from the UMF Development Fund. The visit was made extra joyous as we were joined by Rev. Lynn Benson from the United Methodist Foundation of North Carolina. We are thankful for our collegial relationship with the United Methodist Foundation of North Carolina.

We are so grateful to be working with University UMC and look forward to their continued growth!
