We were teaching the parable of the Wedding Feast and how Christ invites us to be part of His Kingdom (with some help from Prof. Isidrio and kids from his class) this morning!

Wow! Early this month we had some amazing help from our friends from Michigan! This hardworking family blessed us with lots of encouraging conversations, fun with our children and some great outreaches to more than 360 school children, teaching women's Bible studies, visiting local families, strengthening marriages with local couples and work projects like building, painting, and installing a variety of improvements to the ministry site!

Pray for Guatemala. Over the weekend there were a series of riots in the city in some of the prisons and gang violence targeting police officers. Guards were held captive, some 7-9 police were killed. The president declared a state of emergency for the whole country. Our missionaries are safe. Some things are closed today, but we should have a better idea of how this will play out in the next few days. Please pray for peace, calm, wise leaders, protection for all and that those who are involved in gang/cartel activities will be transformed by the power of Christ!

Training teachers who disciple kids is just one way we multiply ourselves and help spread the Gospel here Guatemala. Here we are at a class for teachers at a rural church in Chicua 1 in rural Chichicastenango. Pray with us for these teachers who pour into the lives of children each week!

We teamed up with a local church and a visiting team to take love, prayer and food to some local families! It was exciting to see how God connect the right people at the right time to bring His encouragement!

We spent Saturday leading kids ministry training with fellow missionaries Janice and Hiro Bae in Xela. The 35 Guatemalan leaders who are raising up children in their churches and communities across the region were a joy to work with!

For more than a year, we've been working on a special project and it's finally ready for delivery! These are the 10 final courses for the secondary level of Bible studies from Aselsi Ministries International...in English! This project involved helping the Guatemalan minstry of ASELSI translate, update and redesign 20 courses from their Bible curriculum into English. These courses are ready for use in Ghana, Africa, the USA and in other countries where they need good Bible curricula in English. With a team of people spread between Guatemala and the United States, we've been revising, and re-designing the courses so they can be taken to Bible classes that are ready to put them to use in Ghana. We're just on time, too! Next week a team of Guatemalans are heading out to serve in Ghana for a month to help share Christ (and deliver the Bible courses) there! Pray that God will continue to expand His Kingdom and develop disciples in Africa!
