Optimist Club of Garland The Optimist Club of Garland exists to serve the youth and community of Garland, TX. Annually, six million kids are positively affected by Optimist programs.

Optimists conduct 65,000 community service projects each year, spending $78 million in their communities. Our local Garland Club was founded in 1955; funded 100% of the cost to field the first Pee-Wee Football teams and established the Garland Pee-Wee Football League. Constructed the building in Garland Central Park that is the GPWFL weigh-in & equipment room and Concession Stand. Consistent with

additional Optimist International youth programs our Club also provides:

Police Officer of the Month Recognition
Support for students in the GISD FFA Stock Show & Showmanship competition
25-Hour Christmas Dinner, providing meals for on-duty Garland Police Officers on Christmas Day
Our annual OCG GISD Scholarship Breakfast
Little League Baseball
Other youth activity sponsorships
