Brighter Horizons Academy- College Preparatory Largest full-time accredited PK-12th Islamic school in the South | Est. 1989 BHA is the largest full-time accredited PK-12th Islamic School in the South. ft.

Founded in 1989 by Islamic Services Foundation, the school first held classes in a residential building on Polk Street. Since then, the school has expanded to a full 14-acre campus in Richardson with a main building and an adjacent Early Childhood Education (elementary) building. A 53,000 sq. expansion is currently underway which will add an additional 17 classrooms, an NBA-sized basketball court

(also to be used as a multipurpose hall), lab space, and other amenities. Academics at BHA are rigorous. When applying, students are required to take an entrance exam to demonstrate proficient academic ability. The principal reviews all applicant files and may interview applying students. Once admitted, students complete state-required curriculum and testing as well as Islamic Studies courses and an optional Hifz program. Sophomores are issued laptops for completing assignments, which they may keep upon graduating from BHA. Enrolled juniors and seniors can also complete one of five academic programs, one of which results in the student earning an associate's degree upon graduation.

Our BHA HOSA members just returned from an unforgettable four days in Boston! 🏙️ From simulating clinical procedures at Harvard Medical School’s MedScience Lab to diving into cancer research at MIT’s Koch Institute, our students got a real taste of what careers in medicine and science look like. They toured both Harvard and MIT campuses, received mentorship from BHA alumni now studying at MIT, walked the Freedom Trail with their AP US History teacher Ms. Baba, and wrapped it all up with a sunset harbor cruise.
