Great advice (for kids AND for the adults who try to guide them), from a kid who will remind you of so many of the exceptional kids we see in 4-H, including this:
"'I wish there were higher standards for us,' said one. Another declared, 'I wish we had higher expectations for what we learn.' Teenagers actually crave self-guided, unstructured time and the kind of rigor in school that makes you feel energized, not enervated."

To a few of our prize winners from this weekend's Johnson County Spring Livestock Shows who had trouble redeeming their coupons from Freddy's Frozen Custard store in Gardner, our apologies for the confusion.
Freddy's has agreed to honor those coupons. If you got rid of yours because you couldn't redeem it, please let us know and we will make it good.
