The Chair City Community Workshop is a volunteer run space where first hand accounts from furniture workers are made into hand-printed, hand-bound books using old fashioned methods of bookmaking. We honor the people who made the product that defines Chair City, while bringing the community together around the production of the books. GET INVOLVED
Open work days are all about collaboratively making

the books in the series. We'll train you on the spot for whatever part of production we are in when you come. It may be printing, binding, folding, typesetting, etc.

*Volunteer perks*
Volunteers who donate at least 3 hours of their time can have a finished book. (This time can be spread out, it doesn't need to all be at once.) Volunteers who donate at least 10 hours of their time get a book and their name printed in the "Thank you" section in the back of the next book.

*Furniture industry people*
If you were (or still are) part of the furniture industry, please stop by to pick up a book - it's free for anyone who worked in the industry to thank you for making Chair City. If you are open to being interviewed, let me know. I'd love to hear your story.

*Purchase a book*
If you don't have time to volunteer but would like a book, a $50 donation will get you one, and all the funds go directly to making more books.

*Group tours/visits*
Youth groups, schools, book clubs, sewing/knitting clubs, senior centers, etc. are welcome to come by for a tour or to volunteer. Groups should call or email ahead of time and make an appointment.

Some of you may have had the pleasure of meeting AJ Peterson while involved with the MakerSpace. I'm very sorry to share the news that he recently passed away. I wanted to share my latest newsletter about his legacy. https://mailchi.mp/105f7613548e/lqwcu5lvho-6418210
