If you want some apples, especially for sauce or baking, the apple tree behind the church is full with plenty of still good ones on the ground. It’d be great if someone wants them so they don’t rot. If you don’t eat them, though, the deer will.

Pastor Wes here. I didn't post anything last week for the 25th anniversary of 9/11. I guess I felt like enough would be said. My own experience on that day and after was quite different. I was living in China at the time teaching English at a university. It was evening for me and my colleague called me and said, "I'm in a yahoo chat room talking with this guy and he said an airplane has crashed into the World Trade Center and they think it's terrorism." I got on my dial-up internet to see some news sites, and there was nothing posted yet, so I went to bed and said, "I'll see what happened in the morning." The next morning I woke up and saw. It was unthinkable. Throughout the day, people asked me about it, but life sort of went on as usual. I didn't get the 24 news like you did. I didn't feel the national depression set in. I was removed from it. And because of that, I've actually learned more and more over the years during the anniversaries and recaps. I see footage that I didn't see back then.

Anyway, I ran across this testimonial earlier in the week and I thought I'd share it with you. This guy is a pilot who was supposed to take one of those flights, but someone else had seniority and took it for him. He's a believer and even was part of pastoring a church in Topsham. He was in the Navy at the time too and stationed in Brunswick. It's a fascinating story. I hope you'll enjoy the testimony.
