As we continue on our learning journey as a camp community, we encourage you to check out these resources.
Indigenous Peoples’ Day is October 12. This day recognizes the resilience, diversity, cultures, and contributions of Indigenous Peoples and provides an opportunity to center Indigenous voices, deepen our understanding of the impacts of colonization, and recognize the continued presence and leadership of Indigenous Peoples today.
The Maine DOE has curated resources to support teaching and learning about Indigenous Peoples’ Day and the Wabanaki Nations. These resources can support meaningful learning throughout the year—not just on October 12.
