The Gardendale Beautification Commission promotes the quality of life in Gardendale by creating, participating in, and supporting activities and programs that improve the physical and aesthetic environment of our community. Why is this important to you? Increasing civic pride and community involvement promotes:
• Increased property values
• Decreased vandalism
• Heightened cooperation among munici
pal government, organizations and private citizens
• An increase in economic development and a positive impact on the retail industry
Why should I get involved? By educating the community about Gardendale's environmental assets and how to enhance and protect them, the beautification commission:
• Serves as a liaison and resource for residents, schools, businesses, organizations and city government
• Acts as advocates for the natural environment
• Encourages and promotes partnerships and participation of residents in improving our community
• Advocates a high standard of community cleanliness, maintenance and attractiveness
• Assists in addressing a variety of issues including graffiti eradication, neighborhood and citywide clean-ups, recycling, and other projects
The Gardendale Beautification Commission meets the last Monday of each month at 6 PM at the Gardendale Civic Center, 857 Main Street. The public is encouraged to attend. For more information contact us by email: [email protected]
