BOMA Alabama had a fun filled volunteer work day at The Red Barn.

We fished moss from the horse pond, trimmed (hedges, trees, branches), toured the barn acreage, visited the Cahaba River with our tour guide and counselor Jason, and we visited the horses in their barn as they ate lunch.

BOMA Alabama enjoyed our February BOMA Educational Luncheon featuring Hoover Councilor Khristi Driver, presenting “The Future of Hoover.”

The event was held at historic Hoover-Randle Home & Gardens on Tyler Road in Hoover. And we were treated to a special guest, Will Randle of BOMA Alabama member QCL Landscaping. Mr. Randle is the grandson of the original owners of the historic house. He recalled experiences of his growing up in the home.

We were very appreciative of Councillor Driver's presentation. She has been a Hoover resident for more than 20 years, is currently serving her first elected term on the Hoover City Council after initially completing a partial term by appointment. She serves as President Pro Tem and represents the Council on the Planning and Zoning Commission.

Khristi provided an update on commercial development projects in the City of Hoover and shared insight into the Planning and Zoning process. With continued focus on the redevelopment of the Galleria and Patton Creek areas, she discussed the City’s latest plans and long-term vision for this important corridor.

Special thanks to Hoover-Randle House Director Debbie Rutherford for her assistance into making this an outstanding event.

BOMA Alabama is the leading commercial property management association in Alabama. With 20+ educational and social networking events a year, the opportunities for building business and personal relationships is unsurpassed.

Great turnout at the Spring UA Real Estate Career Fair.

It was incredible to see so many talented students connecting with commercial property management industry professionals, asking thoughtful questions, and taking steps in the right direction towards their careers in real estate. The energy in the room was unmatched.

Thank you to the BOMA Alabama members; Brandon Fennell, Louise Corscadden, Amybeth Coutu and Spencer Simmons who invested their time and to the students who showed up ready to make an impression.

It's days like this that are a reminder of the bright future ahead in our industry of commercial property management.

Outstanding Volunteer Day for BOMA Alabama at the Exceptional Foundation.

A large contingent helped out with pre-game signage prep for the morning basketball game. And a smaller group went to Vestavia Bowl with over two dozen Exceptional Bowlers.

Cheering on the players and bowlers made for a heartwarming experience.

Former BOMA Alabama Presidents Robert Mathews and Mary Beth Smith proudly dropped off a donation this past Friday to The Bell Center Executive Director Jeannie Colquett and Marketing Director Stacey Morales on behalf of BOMA Alabama.

Funds were raised during the Annual BOMA Holiday Party in December through generous sponsorships and casino game sales, all in support of The Bell Center and the important work they do in our community.

The Bell Center provides life-changing early intervention therapy and support for children with developmental delays, empowering families and helping children reach their fullest potential.

We are grateful to everyone with BOMA Alabama who helped make this donation to this incredible organization possible!

Thank you to everyone who joined us on December 3rd for the Annual BOMA Holiday Party at Cahaba Brewing Company! We had an incredible evening raising money in support of The Bell Center, with generous contributions from Cahaba Brewing through beer sales. Guests enjoyed great food, specialty drinks like the Summit Waterproofing “Summitini,” raffle prizes, and plenty of casino games.

We recognized outgoing BOMA Alabama President Robert Mathews (Prestige Floor Care), who served with dedication over the past three years (2023, 2024, and 2025), as well as Mary Beth Smith (CBRE), the prior BOMA Alabama President, who served three years before Robert (2020, 2021, and 2022).

We also recognized our BOMA Member of the Year, Mark Kelly with J. J. Morley. Mark is an active member of BOMA Alabama, BOMA Chattanooga, and BOMA Atlanta, and his dedication, generosity, and willingness to go above and beyond make him an outstanding representative of our organization. We are proud to honor him as the 2025 Member of the Year.

We are excited to welcome our new BOMA Alabama President, Sara Sciara (Colliers Alabama), who will begin her term in 2026, along with our new President-Elect, Jeff Chopin (Edgewood Partners), who will also begin serving in 2026. We look forward to their leadership and the continued growth of our organization.

A huge thank-you to our sponsors—HD Supply Industrial, our premiere event sponsor; Summit Waterproofing, our beverage sponsor; Motivated Movers, our food sponsor; B&B Roofing, our prize sponsor; Pye-Barker, our music sponsor; and IFMA, CBRE, Prestige Floor Care, Grayson Restoration, Northwest Exterminating, AIS, ServPro, CSI, Savage Brothers Painting, and Hardy Services—for making this event possible.

We can’t wait to do it again next year!
