TRI-CITY CERT participated in the Listos CA Neighborhood Emergency Preparedness outreach event. A booth was set up at the City of Gardena Spring Equinox Day, reaching a total of 73 people, including 10 Korean seniors. We had the help of a Korean church, Evergreen Hill Presbyterian Church in Gardena to help us with Korean translation and outreach to the Korean seniors that live by the park. We had provided the Listos Ready guides in English and Korean a year ago. We truly appreciated their strong motivation to outreach to the Korean seniors and to collaborate with us for the first time. We plan to go to the Korean senior manor to bring coffee and doughnuts and bring Listos to them.
The Listos Ready Guide was the main resource, detailing the 5 Steps to becoming Disaster Ready. This guide's availability in multiple languages enables effective outreach to diverse groups. Must be 16 years or older. This is an excellent Disaster Preparedness course and it is designed for the community & businesses. The online training is in Spanish, Mandarin and English.
