Troop 828 Winter Highlights

Scouts wrapped up the year strong with our Winter Merit Badge Extravaganza, where many Scouts earned additional merit badges and made meaningful progress toward advancement.

January kicked off with an unforgettable 5-day adventure to Big Bend, giving Scouts the opportunity to experience rugged terrain, wide-open skies, and true high-adventure camping. The month continued with another great outing at Guadalupe River State Park, where Scouts sharpened outdoor skills and strengthened patrol teamwork.

February kept the energy going with some fun troop pickleball competition, followed by a campout at Government Canyon. We also proudly welcomed five new Scouts during crossover ceremonies from Pack 828 and Pack 51 — we’re excited to have them join the Troop 828 family!

It’s been an active and rewarding start to the year — and we’re just getting started.

Troop 828 wrapped up the year with a month full of service, fun, and adventure! Scouts concluded November and carried the momentum through December with the Wash Tub Card Fundraiser, followed by a trip to Choke Canyon for more fishing and camping. The troop also gathered for a festive year-end bowling party to celebrate the season. In the spirit of giving, our Scouts participated in holiday community service—wrapping gifts and delivering both presents and food to families in need. A big thank you to everyone who made these events a success!
