Miss Garden Grove Topanga Scherf An official preliminary to the Miss California and Miss America Scholarship Pageants.

The Miss Garden Grove Pageant began in 1958 as the Garden Grove Strawberry Festival Pageant. In 1980, the pageant became affiliated with the Miss California and Miss America Organizations, in an effort to provide more opportunities to the young women of Garden Grove. Miss Garden Grove 1981 Delores Bedard was the first Miss Garden Grove to compete for the prestigious title of Miss California. In 20

03 a teen competition was added for girls 13-17, and Kimberly Tyler was appointed the first Miss Garden Grove’s Outstanding Teen. The Miss Garden Grove Scholarship Organization is a not-for-profit organization and exists solely on the generous donations of local businesses, individuals, and service organizations, as well as through year-long fundraising initiatives. Our entire committee consists of volunteers- no one is paid or an employee.

Fun Fact Friday! I started dancing at The Dance Studio 2 in 7th grade and had the privilege of competing on their competition team for 3 years as well as begin my teaching career thanks to the incredible ! With the knowledge I learned from I auditioned and entered the program where I am currently a 2nd year. I couldn’t be more grateful to the people who have helped and continue to help me grow in and outside of the dance studio.

Well that’s a wrap on Miss California 2022! I had so much fun getting to pour my heart out on that stage and share my passions with everyone. I feel truly grateful for the people who helped get me on that stage and make me feel so accomplished. I didn’t walk away with The Miss California Crown but I walked away with such valuable skills which is exactly why I love the Miss America Organization.

Huge congratulations to for becoming the new Miss California and I can’t wait to see you shine on that Miss America Stage!
