Celebrating the Feast of St. Callistus & the Second Anniversary of St. Callistus Chapel ✨

Today, October 14, we celebrate St. Callistus I, a third-century pope who dedicated his life to the Church, emphasized God’s mercy, and offered hope and reconciliation to those seeking forgiveness. His legacy reminds us of the power of faith, compassion, and the promise of God’s love.

Today also marks the second anniversary of the dedication of St. Callistus Chapel & Crypts at Christ Cathedral—a sacred space created for prayer, daily Mass, Adoration, and reflection. For two years, the Chapel has welcomed the faithful to encounter Christ and find peace in His presence.
Through the OLLV Foundation’s mission to create, elevate, and sustain sacred spaces of worship, we remain committed to preserving this sacred place for generations to come.

🙏 Join us in celebrating St. Callistus and two years of faith, prayer, and worship. May this Chapel continue to be a source of grace and spiritual renewal for all who enter.

🌹 Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary | October 7

Today, we honor Our Lady of the Rosary, a day that invites us to rediscover one of the most beloved prayers of the Catholic faith.
The Rosary is a prayer of meditation on the life of Jesus through the eyes of Mary. As we pray each Hail Mary, we reflect upon the mysteries of Christ’s life—His birth, ministry, Passion, death, and Resurrection.

The Rosary is more than a repetition of prayers. It is a powerful way to quiet our hearts, deepen our faith, seek Mary’s intercession, and draw closer to Christ. Through the Rosary, families and communities have found comfort, strength, and hope for generations.

At Marian Gardens at Christ Cathedral, there is a special place to experience this prayer. With its Rosary Walk and beautiful sacred spaces, the gardens invite us to slow down, reflect, and walk with Mary toward her Son.

🌹 This October, take a moment to pray the Rosary.
Come walk the Rosary at Marian Gardens, place your intentions in Mary's hands, and allow prayer to renew your heart.
Our Lady of the Rosary, pray for us.

Feast of St. Francis of Assisi | October 4 🕊️

Saint Francis reminds us that true holiness is found in humility, compassion, service, and peace. He gave his life to Christ, embraced the poor, and became a powerful witness to the Gospel.

This year, we celebrate the Franciscan Jubilee Year, proclaimed by Pope Leo XIV from January 10, 2026, through January 10, 2027, marking 800 years since the death of Saint Francis.

At OLLV Foundation, his example challenges us to put faith into action—to see those in need, respond with compassion, and bring hope where it is needed most.

Today, don’t just remember Saint Francis—live his example.
🙏 Pray.
❤️ Serve.
🤲 Give.
🕊️ Be an instrument of peace.

Join OLLV Foundation in turning compassion into action and helping us carry Christ’s love to those who need it most.

Saint Francis of Assisi, pray for us.

🍷🍔 An Evening of Friendship & Support 🍔🍷

Last Friday, we had the joy of gathering with some of our local friends and supporters for an intimate evening at St. Mary by the Sea in Huntington Beach.

Over sliders, w**e, and great conversation, we shared our gratitude for those who believe in the mission of OLLV Foundation and the sacred spaces we are helping preserve at Christ Cathedral.

A special thank you to for the amazing sliders and to for providing the w**e and helping make the evening so special.

And this is just the beginning! Our next gathering is the OLLV Foundation Masquerade Gala on November 7 at the Hyatt Regency Irvine. All proceeds support the OLLV Foundation Endowment Fund, helping provide for the year-round care and preservation of our sacred spaces.

We are grateful for the friendship, generosity, and support of our local community. We look forward to celebrating together on November 7! 💙

🛡️ Who stands beside us? Who carries God’s message? Who brings healing?

Today, September 29, we celebrate the Feast of Saints Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael—the three Archangels named in Sacred Scripture.

⚔️ Saint Michael the Archangel — defender and protector, reminding us to stand firm in faith.

🕊️ Saint Gabriel the Archangel — God’s messenger, who brought Mary the life-changing news that she would become the Mother of Jesus.

💙 Saint Raphael the Archangel — companion and healer, whose name means “God heals.”

At Christ Cathedral, our sacred spaces invite us to pause, pray, and draw closer to God. From the Our Lady of La Vang Shrine and Marian Gardens to St. Callistus Chapel, these places of worship and reflection remind us that we are never alone in our journey of faith.

Today, as we celebrate the heavenly messengers who serve God and His people, may we ask for their intercession over our families, our communities, and all who enter these sacred spaces seeking peace, healing, and hope.

Saint Michael. Saint Gabriel. Saint Raphael. Pray for us! 🙏

✨ So… what exactly is an Abbatial Blessing? And why is he called “Right Reverend”?

Today, the OLLV Foundation celebrates a very special moment for our office neighbor and friend, the Right Reverend John Caronan, O.Praem., who received his Abbatial Blessing.

But what does that mean?

⛪ An Abbatial Blessing is a solemn blessing in the Catholic Church for a newly elected and confirmed abbot. It is a special rite of prayer, asking God to give the abbot the grace and strength to serve and lead his monastic community. It is a sacramental blessing—not a sacrament or a new ordination—but a significant moment in the life of the Church.

👑 And “Right Reverend”?

No, Father John didn't suddenly become a Bishop! 😊

“Right Reverend” is a traditional ecclesiastical title associated with certain abbots. An abbot is the superior and spiritual leader of a male monastic community.

For us at OLLV Foundation, this celebration is especially meaningful because Abbot John is more than our office neighbor here at the Diocese of Orange. We are grateful for his friendship, guidance, encouragement, and support of the work we do.

Please join us in congratulating Abbot John and praying for him as he begins this new chapter of service.

🙏 May God bless Abbot John abundantly and guide him in his ministry!

Today, we celebrate a historic moment: the Beatification of Archbishop Fulton J. Sheen.

In the Catholic Church, beatification is the declaration that a person is “Blessed” and may be publicly honored and venerated in certain circumstances. It is an important step on the journey toward sainthood.

The Church’s process generally follows four stages: Servant of God → Venerable → Blessed → Saint. Following beatification, another confirmed miracle is ordinarily required before a person can be canonized as a saint.

This celebration holds special meaning here at Christ Cathedral. Before this campus became Christ Cathedral, Archbishop Sheen visited the former Crystal Cathedral, where he preached at the Hour of Power. Today, his legacy remains part of this sacred campus, with his image honored inside St. Callistus Chapel.

As we celebrate this step toward sainthood, we give thanks for Archbishop Sheen’s life of faith, evangelization and devotion to Christ.

Blessed Fulton J. Sheen, pray for us. 🙏

Congratulations, Dr. Elysabeth Nguyen! 🎉✝️

What a joyful day to celebrate Dr. Elysabeth Nguyen, Founder and CEO of the OLLV Foundation, on her beautiful initiation into the Military and Hospitaller Order of Saint Lazarus of Jerusalem!

Dr. Nguyen's installation took place at the Order's national meeting in New Orleans, surrounded by many dedicated Christians united in the same sacred purpose — a truly fitting setting for such a meaningful milestone.

As a Vietnamese-American Catholic woman and leader, this honor holds profound meaning — not just for Dr. Nguyen, but for everyone who has walked alongside her in this journey of faith and service. Today, our hearts are full of gratitude and pride.

The Order's roots stretch back to the 11th century in the Holy Land, born from a sacred calling to care for those suffering from leprosy. Nearly a thousand years later, that same spirit — faith, charity, compassion, hospitality, and service to those in need — still burns bright.

It's a spirit we see reflected every day in Dr. Nguyen's leadership and in the heart of the OLLV Foundation: serving others with love, honoring our Catholic heritage, and building sacred spaces where people find hope, healing, and connection to God.

We are so grateful to see Dr. Nguyen's dedication to faith and service recognized in this beautiful way, among a community of like-hearted believers, and we lift her up in prayer as she continues to lead with grace and purpose.

Congratulations, Dr. Nguyen — this distinguished honor is so richly deserved! ✝️🙏
