Hi All,

Nice that we’ve had some milder weather and the evenings are nice and cool. Weather forecast has it cooling down more beginning next week so we’ll have more Autumn like weather for Thanksgiving day, which will be nice.

Our regularly scheduled Binky meeting/gathering is this Saturday, November 21st at Bears Quilt Shop in Garden Grove, CA at 11am. Hope to see you there.

Hi All,

Heads-up, we will not be meeting in June. This is the first weekend for the 2015 Southern California Quilt Run (SCQR). Keep your eyes open for a special sale event at Bear’s during the SCQR weekends; Viv’s had mentioned he might have one.

Another event that begins this Sunday, June 21st is the 2015 Row-by-Row Experience, which is kind of a Quilt Hop. My understanding is that this year there are quilt shops participating in every State as well as Canada. Each participating shop hands out a ‘free pattern’, most have kits to purchase and/or customized FabricPlates. I was able to visit quite a number of the local shops (southern CA) last year. I have a friend that drove back to Baltimore MD last year and she was kind enough to stop at numerous shops along her journey. She picked up quite a few patterns from other states for me. Hi All,

Hope everyone had a nice Valentine Day and President’s Day holiday. It is Binky Patrol time again, tomorrow Saturday February 21st. I should be there close to 11:00AM so please drop on in and keep me company whilst working on whatever you’d like.

I prepared several quilts for Rudy and Candi last month and would like to get a few more ready for the bins tomorrow. I found a pattern on the Moda website called Building Blocks, which I printed off. Pattern looks simple using primarily charm packs w/strips for sashing and borders. This pattern will be great to use up some of the smaller fat quarter size fabrics we have in Binky stash. I am hoping to get at least one kit packaged up ready for someone to work on.

Hi All,

Tomorrow is our regularly scheduled day for our Binky gathering. With it being Easter on Sunday, not sure if anyone will be available to drop by the shop.

I will be available for a couple hours Saturday, but will be leaving around 1:00pm or shortly thereafter. A friend gave me her theatre tickets to a play at the Segerstrom Center for the Arts, matinee performance. She and her husband are out of town for the holiday.

Hi All,

Is everyone ready for the Holidays? This year-end really snuck up on me, so I am behind in my holiday tasks. I am not going to stress about it. Call me wacky, but I enjoy the hustle and bustle this time of year and I really enjoy Christmas music. I could listen to it all year round.

Binky time again. Tomorrow Saturday, December 21 is our regularly scheduled day. We are still cutting the Binky fabric into strips and blocks so I expect we’ll be doing more of that Saturday.


I should be in the shop around 11:00 AM until at least 3:00PM tomorrow. Drop on by anytime.

It is Binky time again. Drop by anytime Saturday between 11:00 and 3:00PM. It will be a short day for me as I would like to make it over to “Celebrate Old Town Tustin day” if possible.

Welcome to Monica and Kimberly, two new volunteers eager to learn quilting. While on the Quilt Run last month I picked-up quite a few baby panels some with coordinating fabrics. We’ll have a number of project choices to start you off with. Once complete we’ll pass them on to Mary who in turn will pass them on to UCI.

I found a home for the remaining yarn. I donated it to a friend who belongs to a knitting circle in Lake Forest/El Toro area. They knit/crochet baby items donating to local hospitals as well as knitting scarves for the military.

Remember, for the knitted or crocheted blanket please try to make them at least ‘lap size’. The smaller ones can be a bit harder in finding a home. J
