Sisters United in Health/Hermanas Unidas en la Salud is a project of the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program and Planned Parenthood of Nassau County. It involves a collaboration of over a dozen organizations in the Long Island region. Our goal is to provide breast health education, conduct outreach initiatives and offer screening and support resources to African-American and Hispanic/Latino women in under-served communities. We do this by providing NO-COST:

- Bilingual educational presentations and in-service workshops to community organizations, agencies, schools and places of worship

- Referrals to free or low-cost mammograms for women regardless of their insurance or immigration status

- Participation in health and wellness fairs and community programs

- Bilingual educational brochures and literature to community organizations and businesses

Sisters United in Health is supported by grants from The Greater NYC Affiliate of Susan G. Komen, the Nassau County Women's Bar Foundation and other foundations.

Connect with other young women ages 25–46 who understand the experience in a supportive space where you can share, listen, and feel understood.

For the sixth year, The Public Safety Patch Project-Sticker Edition is going pink for breast cancer awareness. These stickers raise funds for the Adelphi NY Statewide Breast Cancer Hotline and Support Program. We love this year’s design: boxing gloves paired with breast cancer awareness ribbons on a bright pink background with a gold border. For over 40 years, our Breast Cancer Hotline has provided New Yorkers with trusted information and emotional support. Our hotline is available 365 days a year and is staffed by breast cancer survivors —women and men who have faced a diagnosis of breast cancer and are now dedicated to helping others
on their journey.

Yesterday, Sandra Martinez Bilingual Outreach Coordinator and Gabriela Ortega, Hotline Volunteer Coordinator for the Adelphi Breast Cancer Program, attended the Roosevelt Family Resource Night at Centennial Park. The event connected families with community vendors and local organizations providing essential resources, including healthcare, youth and family services, and childcare support.
