Collister Neighborhood Association

Collister Neighborhood Association We aim to create a welcoming, safe, and enjoyable environment where residents can connect, support one another, and share in the pride of our unique community.

The Collister Neighborhood Association is a volunteer-run nonprofit dedicated to promoting, enhancing, and protecting the quality of life in the neighborhood, while fostering a sense of community for residents, businesses, and visitors. The Collister Neighborhood Association (CNA) is focused on building a strong, connected community by fostering positive relationships among neighbors and enhancing

the overall quality of life in our neighborhood. Through neighborhood events, communication, and collaboration, we work together to maintain and improve the character of the Collister Neighborhood, ensuring it remains a great place to live for current and future generations. Collister Neighborhood Association Boundaries
The Collister Neighborhood roughly encompasses the area between 36th Street and Pierce Park Lane, and between State Street and Seaman’s Gulch. NOTE: If you live or own a business within these boundaries, you are automatically a member of the CNA. Unlike a Homeowners Association, we have no dues, and the CNA does not make or enforce rules. Collister Neighborhood Facebook Group (Unofficial)
"The Collister Neighborhood group is a place for members to engage in discussions, learn, and share information relevant to the Collister Neighborhood (and, on occasion, nearby neighborhoods). The goal is to create a sense of community by sharing information that directly affects those residing within the Collister Neighborhood Association’s boundaries." It is not the voice of the CNA Board, but rather a way to build community. Check it out here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/collisterneighborhoodgroup.

Drink responsibly, be vigilant, clean up fireworks debris, and have a fun holiday weekend.

As Ada County residents prepare to celebrate Independence Day, it's essential to prioritize safety for ourselves, our families, and our community. Whether you are traveling to your festivities, or celebrating close to home, please be mindful of these important reminders to ensure a safe and enjoyable holiday:

🚗Designated Drivers: If you plan to indulge in alcoholic beverages, plan ahead for a sober driver. Alcohol is one of the leading causes of injuries and deaths on Idaho roadways.

🚶Be Vigilant: The Treasure Valley will play host to many special events and gatherings over the next few days. These events can draw large crowds, including pedestrians. Whether you're driving or walking, stay vigilant and be mindful of each other's presence. Use crosswalks and obey traffic signals and signs to prevent crashes.

🎇Fireworks Debris Cleanup: If you're lighting fireworks, please clean up any debris promptly and responsibly. Safely discard used fireworks and related items in designated trash receptacles. Keeping our roads and neighborhoods clean helps maintain a safe environment for all.

BUT FIRST - Make sure you are in a safe location to set off fireworks. With high heat, high fuels, and impaired judgement, Independence Day can quickly turn from celebration to devastation. Ada County Commissioners have banned fireworks in most parts of Unincorporated Ada County. Use this link to see an interactive map of those banned areas. https://gisprod.adacounty.id.gov/apps/fireworksban/

By following these simple guidelines, we can all contribute to a safer and more enjoyable Fourth of July celebration. Let's celebrate responsibly and ensure a memorable day for all the right reasons.

Last night's group bike ride, hosted by ACHD Walk, Bike and Ride, was a hot one — but we still learned a lot about our neighborhoods!

We heard the story behind the dogbone roundabout — how it came to be and the benefits it’s brought. We also explored the micropaths behind Albertsons at 36th and State, including a newly installed bike counter along one of those paths.

The ride included a preview of the design for Taft Street (though construction doesn’t have a start date yet), and stops at Owens, Sunset, and Catalpa Parks.

Big thanks to the ACHD staff for hosting these community rides and to Commissioner Gold for joining us and talking with residents. Also a shout out to the Boise Bicycle Project and Dirt Dart for offering some last-minute tuneups!

Thank you Clancy Anderson from the CNA Transportation Committee for the report and pictures! 🚲
