Funding Opportunities for Nassau County Businesses, Communities & Economic Development Organizations

The Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce is pleased to share information about the National Grid Downstate Economic Development Grant Program, which supports projects throughout Nassau and Suffolk Counties that strengthen local economies, revitalize commercial corridors, encourage redevelopment, and create jobs.

Available programs may assist with:

✅ Business recruitment and marketing initiatives
✅ Downtown and commercial corridor revitalization
✅ Brownfield and vacant property redevelopment
✅ Manufacturing productivity improvements
✅ Clean technology and innovation projects
✅ Site development and infrastructure improvements
✅ Sustainable energy and economic development initiatives
✅ Community redevelopment and investment projects

Some programs offer matching grants and funding opportunities of up to $250,000 for eligible projects, businesses, municipalities, nonprofit development corporations, research institutions, and economic development partners.

As chambers continue working to strengthen local business districts and support economic growth across Nassau County, these resources may provide valuable funding opportunities for community and business development initiatives.

We encourage our member chambers, municipalities, economic development organizations, nonprofits, and business leaders to explore these programs and determine whether they may be a fit for current or future projects.

❤️🖤💚 Today, the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce joins communities across the country in recognizing Juneteenth — a day that commemorates freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of equality and opportunity for all.

Juneteenth marks June 19, 1865, when news of emancipation finally reached enslaved African Americans in Texas, more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation was issued.

As we reflect on this important day in American history, we honor the contributions, achievements, and enduring strength of Black Americans who have helped shape our communities, businesses, and nation.

Juneteenth is also a reminder that strong communities are built through understanding, inclusion, opportunity, and working together toward a brighter future for everyone.

From all of us at the Nassau Council of Chambers of Commerce, we wish you a meaningful and reflective Juneteenth.
