is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, utilizing horses to provide therapeutic horse-assisted activities to individuals with disabilities to enhance their health, independence, and quality of life. Miles of Smiles Therapeutic Horsemanship is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that offers children and adults with physical, mental, emotional and social disabilities the benefit of therapeutic horseback riding.

The facility improvement projects still need some final touches, but the hard work is now complete!

We could not have done it without the grant from Western Kansas Community Foundation, nor the hard work of some great people. In addition, the welder required to put everything together was also purchased using an earlier grant from WKCF. Proof that their support extends far beyond a single grant.

We can’t thank everyone enough!

Facility improvement projects are underway!

Our well house is getting a new door and the temporary panels are being replaced with permanent fencing - all because of a community grant from the Western Kansas Community Foundation. Many projects and programs would not have been possible without their continued support, and we can’t appreciate them enough!

Tomorrow’s the day we’re “Rocking the Spectrum” at the Garden City Zoo starting at 10:00 AM!

Come join Miles of Smiles’ amazing team of volunteers as we walk for awareness, support, and acceptance of Autism!

There will be activities and music - something fun for everyone!

What a wonderful event with great presentations, delicious food, and amazing women! We are grateful to have been a part of it and we’re honored to have received this generous grant from Women of Purpose and Western Kansas Community Foundation! Their support of Miles of Smiles and to our communities proves how passionate people create significant impact.

This grant will help fund IRD (Instructors of Rider’s with Disabilities) Certifications for our instructors to strengthen the program’s quality and safety as we continue to expand access and capacity for female participants. And to build female leadership to train, mentor, and support female volunteers and future instructors, ensuring long-term program sustainability and opportunities for women leaders.

We look forward to sharing all the ways this grant will impact the girls and women participants at Miles of Smiles.
