Garden City Community College will hold a groundbreaking ceremony at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, for the new Security State Bank Construction Trades Center, a facility that will expand workforce training and help meet growing demand for skilled trades professionals in Southwest Kansas. 👷‍♂️⚡

The ceremony will take place at 718 N. Campus Drive in Garden City and is open to the public. Parking will be available at Broncbuster Stadium.

The Security State Bank Construction Trades Center at GCCC will provide 11,350 square feet of modern instructional and hands-on training space for Construction Technology and Electrical Technology classes, helping prepare students for high-demand careers throughout the region. 🔨

The GCCC Meat Judging Team is hosting a Meat Judging Camp on August 6-7, 2026! 🥩

Participants will spend two days in the GCCC Meat Lab gaining hands-on experience, building judging skills, and competing in a practice contest designed to simulate real judging scenarios.

📅 August 6-7, 2026
⏰ 9 AM - 5 PM each day
💲 $100 per participant (includes lunch both days!)

The camp is open to all skill levels:
🟡 Beginners: Ages 8-10 (or less than one year of experience)
🟤 Experienced: Ages 11-18 (or more than one year of experience)
