Santiago never lost hope of being reunited with his family. After facing heartbreaking separation, his caseworker, MariJuly, refused to let obstacles stand in the way. Through persistence and dedication, she helped secure the impossible—bringing Santiago home to his family in Ecuador.

Our Flushing Family Residence has partnered with Daphna Mor of The New Shul to provide residents with recreational programming and additional support. Ms. Mor launched weekly workshops called The Tuesday Club, which meet every Tuesday during after-school hours. The program offers homework help, games, art, and music activities. This week’s session focused on arts and crafts, and participants created items such as jewelry boxes, bracelets, and drawings.

Our Spring Fling Shopping Day was a hit! More than 80 SCO youth & families shopped for clothing and accessories in our Journey Chic Boutique, guided by interns from our Passages to Adulthood and Mentored Internship Programs. SCO’s Chic Boutique offers clothing, accessories and household items to SCO clients free of charge - thanks to partnerships with the NYC Administration for Children’s Services and Materials for the Arts, who donate the items. The boutique was made possible by support from the Amazin’ Mets Foundation.
