Operating capital is received through the personal finances of our team members, through individual donations and sponsors from the local area. “Over the years, LCT has grown bigger and more rewarding than we could have ever imagined when we started in 1984. Without our dedicated volunteers and sponsors, none of this would be possible”. The Lighthouse Charity Team works in conjunction with other Non-Profits such as the American Red Cross, Gleanings From The Harvest dba Galveston County Food Bank, and other non-profits. The Galveston Food Bank even shares our Galveston location building with us! The Lighthouse Charity Team is available to: Individuals, Businesses, Emergency Responders, Utility Companies, Refinery’s and others in time of need.

Congratulations to Bruce Compton, our Lighthouse Charity Team Volunteer of the Month!
Bruce is often one of the first to raise his hand when help is needed. His organization, positive attitude, and willingness to serve make him a tremendous asset to our team. He has a unique ability to lead by example, make everyone feel welcome, and leave a lasting impression on both volunteers and those we serve.
From helping coordinate major events like Yaga's Wild Game Cookoff and the Galveston Lifeguard Association BBQ fundraiser to working behind the scenes to ensure everything runs smoothly, Bruce consistently demonstrates the heart of Lighthouse Charity Team.

Join Us for the 11th Annual Lawrence J. Del Papa Memorial Golf Tournament
On Monday, July 13, 2026, friends, families, businesses, and community supporters will gather at Moody Gardens Golf Course to honor the legacy of Lawrence J. Del Papa and support the mission of Lighthouse Charity Team.

Lawrence Del Papa believed in giving back to the community, and his spirit of service continues through this tournament each year. Proceeds help Lighthouse Charity Team provide volunteers, cooking equipment, and support for disaster relief efforts, first responders, veterans, nonprofits, and community-building events throughout Galveston County.
